things are looking goodi will harvedst my frisian this or next weekend

great hope all is going well with the harvest, i will get my last plants today or tomorrow.

the coco mix plants look like indoor ones ... i might use my old coco for that purpose as well ,it seems to work well GS ..

hope all goes well for the rest of your harvest ;)

yeah those coco plants had a great look to them all things considered. i do believe all the beneficial's in the coco and the great air water retention was a help and will be using it again in next years soil mix.

yeah i'm a bit worried about mold on my last plants, specially queeny, but i have to be glad the weather has been good the last days.

Looking great there gaius! You must be so proud!

cheers mate, yeah there is a kind of satisfaction involved in getting to this stage. but at the same time i realize how much better i could have done things. just look at Liquidlights plants, lol.

here the pics from the last few plants cut down:

Hows the bud drying Gaius? I'm getting to smoke some nicely dried samples now ... not sure about phenos exactly but i think i have the 'candy pheno' ... they all have a kind of fruity/sweet smell and taste (kinda reminds me of mango and orange) but one of them (a pink one not a dark purple one) just tastes better than the others ... just nice and sweet and fruity ... and a slight spicy/skunky edge. Reminds me of smoking some 90's sweet skunk. Nice head and body high and some nice chunky sticky sugary buds!

Looks very similar to Paradise seeds 'Opium' which i grew a couple of years ago with it's pretty pink and purple colours. But like you Gaius, i started them late and had single cola plants. I'm amazed at how well yours did in the end ...they really filled out nicely, i think this Frisian Dew has a bit of that 'hybrid vigour' (it's an F1 after all) and the yield is really good, in fact i'd say it lives up to dutch passions description and 'does what it says on the tin' ... except with the mould resistance;

So i harvested all the tops last time and went back yesterday to harvest the rest but the biggest of the plants (dark purple one) which had most of the remaining harvest had moulded up all over, so i just took what i could from the other two plant's ... one of which was still not really ready but will probably smoke ok if dried well. So i just tidied up the spot and collected up all my bits of wire and stuff.
I wasn't too dissapointed either, i'd got all my nice tops and done what i'd set out to do which was grow some quality outdoor bud. I'm at peace now :)

well some phenos are less mold resistant , but overall it is a very mold resistant strain

i also have mold on my frisian

i harvested her one week too late , she is all swollen and white and sugary now , but cuz of the humidity and dense nugs mold is starting to develop everywhere

ut it should have been harvested last week

well off to work now(= trimming:D)

i saved the best for last lol, or nature saved the best for last, my queeny is still to be posted up, only cut her down a few days ago. she is the one that showed me how worth it it can all be. as for the stuff i cut a while back, the smoke is really quite impressive, nice taste and good effects on the 3 phenos i tried so far. will post more on effects as i make up my mind :)

will reply to everyone fully as time permits

sorry for the late replies...

sorry for the late replies...

hey there everyone...

i'll be posting the harvest pics of queeny and the purp plant from spot 2 next, gotten a bit behind with resizing pics and downloading, but i will get to it. Queeny has done her name honor :joint:

for now i still have the 4 plants in spot 3 which will all have just a small top bud and the green pheno from spot 4 left, for the rest they are all harvested. didnt care enough about the 4 in spot 3 as they were so pathetic to rush getting them in, while the green pheno in spot 4 was still not ripe last time i was there.

i think you'll find it was way too late to do any training on those plants, had i topped them i'd have even less bud. the veg phase was just too short for any training. next season will be started early, which will allow me to top them all and train as needed, although i don't want to be going to the spot all the time to tie them down or any other reason, thats how they get ripped, when you go too much and people see you. but topping them and letting them get bushy is my aim for next season, by starting early and giving each plant a good amount of super soil mix, i should get there.

Congrats on getting thru your first OD season gaiusmarius enjoy the harvest....

yeah nearly done now. at least i know my spots have the potential to be used, now just a matter of early start and enough soil prep. yeah really enjoying the fruits, 16 plants and all different in their own way lol a lot of testing to do.

Looks awesome gs, grats on the harvest and enjoy!!!

thanks, will do. it's been really nice having you folks along for the ride. would have been a lonely thread without you all. thanks for coming along for the trip :)

Enjoy your fresh tokes there buddy!

i really am enjoying it, some of these phenos are really nice, not just hit wise also tasty. not quite smoked all of them yet and still havn't weighed anything, was planning to do it all at once when everything is dry. so far i only smoked a joint here and there of a few of the phenos.

Looks tasty GM, glad that you managed to pull it off mate... had a good adventure n kept yourself fit on the way :D What kind of smells is that stuff producing because it looks pretty dank

the smells are very interesting, you have a smokey skiunky smell to most of them some with a slight sour tang which seems from the purple. but i still haven't tasted all of them. i know queeny is very nice, nice smell, taste and strong hit. got me cleaning the bathroom and hall the other day after smoking a spliff first thing lol.

you did an awesome job with your frisians man, i can only hope to achieve similar results next year. as i said haven't quite tasted them all yet, but on the whole i'm more then happy with the strain and will get them again next season as well as some typhoon and royal dane if i can find, also like the sound of erocket. variety is the spice of life eh? hence i'm so glad that there are different phenos. i totally hear yo on the sweet skunky taste, that's my queeny plant through and through.

He he, will ya look at that, as pretty as can be. Happy Toking Gaius. ;)

thanks for the kind words, all in all it was a beginner guerrilla grow, but as far as making it to harvest it can be considered a success lol.

those buds look super pretty!!
good job!

that FD is prety as a picture with her red, purple and pink coloring. even small buds look pretty in those colors.

BUDS Lookin good!
good luck and have fun :smokeit:

thanks man, i am :joint:

pitty about the mold, you probably should have harvested it all together. seems you waited a bit too long lol. anyway it still looks like you got an awesome harvest, considering its all with the suns energy you got to be chuffed. i know i am even with my small yield.

in the end i had one plant that rotted, for the rest the mold resistance seemed to hold true. i can't wait to give this another shot. i have scouted out another location which will allow me to plant as many plants as i can with my mate and its all easy to get to.

also collected all my wire up, but left my posts standing for next year. i figure they will rot less standing up then laying on the ground.

word! he waited too long :) oh well live and learn. there again luck has to play a roll too in which phenos end up in you pack of seeds. so maybe liquidlight just got more of the suseptible ones then we did.

thanks for the good vibes MJB, you and others have been a great help through out with your comments and tips. indeed it's a real pleasure to sit back and get high from those buds. the outdoor high is special in its own way. the maturity of outdoor plants also seems toadd to the depth and complexity of the taste, smell and high. even though it's been a lot of work in a way and i was hoping for more plants like queeny, i know what i have to do next time to get there though so thats a good first season.

here we are with the harvest of queeny and purp, spot 2 :

here we are with the harvest of queeny and purp, spot 2 :

better late then never...

a few shots of Queeny and her purple sister from spot 2. when it comes to end yield things have been predictably disappointing :) even queeny only made 41g of dry bud, while her purp sister made 8.5g lol. in spot 1 the Vplant made a grant total of 10.5g. while the 3 plants from spot 4 and 5 that i took are all from 10 to 11g dry weight, but again considering those plants were put out after some plants were already flowering its not bad. much more importantly the taste and hit on these ladies is nothing less then very good. having tested more and when sober and on friends i'm more and more happy with the strain FD. now that it's been packed up a week or so, the flavors are starting to develop subtle side tastes next to the sweet skunkyness. really quite incredible, very motivating to do it properly next year. im thinking 50lt holes at least. even considering making the holes 75lt as i want to plant by mid May. knowing that my spots have had plants grown to harvest, means i can invest the prep work with high hopes lol.

anyway here some Queeny shots before and after cut down

heres some pics of the purple lady in spot 2,

she had 2 weeks more veg time then queeny and made 8.5, while queeny made 41 with 2 weeks less veg. although i think the sun light hours were longer for queeny as she was further up the valley.
