At first only Nichiren chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, but then two, three, and a
hundred followed, chanting and teaching others. Propagation will unfold this way
in the future as well. Does this not signify "emerging from the earth"? At the
time when the Law has spread far and wide, the entire Japanese nation will chant
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, as surely as an arrow aimed at the earth cannot miss the
target.

Chanting and Buddism not only saved my life from a downward spiral of hate and hard chemical drugs, but it also gave me the wisdom to love my fellow man, and brought good things with it to my life.

I went from chemically dependent in a one bedroom apt with my spouse to non chemically dependent, financially secure and independent and buying a 5 bedroom home.

Life is good Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

Each of you should summon up the courage of a lion king and never succumb to
threats from anyone. The lion king fears no other beast, nor do its cubs.
Slanderers are like barking foxes, but Nichiren's followers are like roaring
lions.

The Nirvana Sutra teaches the principle of lessening one's karmic retribution.
If one's heavy karma from the past is not expiated within this lifetime, one
must undergo the sufferings of hell in the future, but if one experiences
extreme hardship in this life [because of the Lotus Sutra], the sufferings of
hell will vanish instantly. And when one dies, one will obtain the blessings of
the human and heavenly worlds, as well as those of the three vehicles and the
one vehicle.

Mr. Toda once told me: "You can make a defeat the cause for future victory. You
can also make victory the cause for future defeat." The Buddhism of Nichiren
Daishonin is the Buddhism of the true cause, the Buddhism of the present and
future. We don't dwell on the past. We are always challenging ourselves from the
present toward the future. "The whole future lies ahead of us! We have only just
begun!" -- because we advance with this spirit, we will never be deadlocked.

If the minds of living beings are impure, their land is also impure, but if
their minds are pure, so is their land. There are not two lands, pure or impure
in themselves. The difference lies solely in the good or evil of our minds.

What will the future be like? No one knows the answer to that question. All we
know is that the effects that will appear in the future are all contained in the
causes that are made in the present. The important thing, therefore, is that we
stand up and take action to achieve great objectives without allowing ourselves
to be distracted or discouraged by immediate difficulties.

My garden has taught me so much about the bodhisattva nature

There is nothing more rewarding than having your faith fulfilled

and yes, the wondrous law of cause and effect is not that difficult to grasp when you practice the bodhisattva nature in your garden

an amazing synergy exists and becomes lucid if you simply start by chanting to your plants

WHAT MAN ARE YOU WACK!?!?! yeah i know what your thinking

let me explain, your garden is like the Gohonzon in that it is a mirror of your being, what lies in your heart and mind.

simply chant in faith and compassionately and when you chant to it you are expressing the bodhisattva nature because you are not chanting because you are sure of the cause and effect, you are chanting out of faith that it will have results and compassion because the results, being intangible cant be identified with your self but are for the benefit of the plant

the mere fact that you want to give more than you understand is selfless and that selfless action in and of itself can lead to an understanding of compassion.

faith that some result will be found such as just being around your plants more to observe them does lead to better results, this is a common testimony among many expert gardeners.

its a start of a practice to give lovingly, generously and blindly that is difficult for many

the opposite of faith is doubt and fear and the opposite of compassion is apathy and indifference and this is how the world would ask us to live

this is why it takes the heart of a lion to be a senseless giver and command the buddha nature

but as I said there is no greater reward that faith fulfilled and I promise that the bodhisattva nature and resultant reward does not go unrequited

break the boundaries of the body mind and spirit that have been imposed by the conforming world and be free of doubt and indifference and embrace the heritage: that is expressing your humanity to its fullest potential

it is fulfilled so gracefully and so simply with such simple actions

Where there is water, fish dwell. Where there are woods, birds gather. On the
mountain island of P'eng-lai there are many jewels, and on Mount Malaya
sandalwood trees grow. There is gold in the mountains from which the river
Li-shui flows. Now this place, too, is like that. It is the place of the cluster
of blessings where the Buddhas and bodhisattvas dwell.

When you encounter a wall, you should tell yourself, "Since there is a wall
here, a wide, open expanse must lie on the other side." Rather than becoming
discouraged, know that encountering a wall is proof of the progress that you
have made so far. I hope that you will continually advance in your Buddhist
practice with this conviction blazing ever more strongly in your heart.

Wisdom for Modern Life by Daisaku Ikeda
Nichiren Buddhism is concerned with a very practical problem—how people should live their lives—and never for an instant allows its attention to be diverted from that problem. And because this is its purpose, it demands as a first step that one conduct a thorough and fearless examination into the true nature of human life.

i feel compelled to share and i hope it comes out intact

i feel aligned my faith being fulfilled from enlightenment

and as i thought about this difference, what is it about being in the truth, being in the here and now that is different

and i saw it revealed

i no longer spend time questing what i used to

most a trap of questing why is my life the way it is instead of understanding that it is and simply continues to be

i have always believed in karma and the energy that we put out as possessing potential for repercussions but i never saw the direct cause and effect

and i dont have to, because i no longer question my faith in the law of cause and effect i just regard how it is my own actions effect it

it is a far better place to be
