hello chaps, im back after a long break from the site,

im having a huge problem with 2 spotted mites, i will start by saying ive a cubbord grow with a 250w cfl (red) and 2 6ft 100w florecent tubes (blue) i will admit ive given the mites a perfect breeding condition, low humidity and a steady 85f but this cant be helped at the mo, anyway these mites are buggers, they are immune to all the pesticides belive me ive spent 100s on them with no effect on the mites at all, ive even tried smoke an still no joy, ive spent so much cash on trying to be rid of the scum i nolonger have a budget and ive spent more than the one plant i have left will produce, she is a biggun tho, 6ft in hight and trained well with several main colas, any way to cut a long story short the only option im left with that im told will work is nicotine? but were can one find nicotine? or should i just boil some tobacco in water and spray with that? i have no idea, plus i forgot to mention im 2 weeks from harvest! so the question is can i boil tobacco in water and spray with that? has any1 tried this in the past, i really dont want to spray my baby and kill her or damage the buds that are tiny ones at that, also 2 weeks from harvest and she is only just starting to produce resin, would that be stress from the mites?

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thankyou.

Sap man, i use on mites tobacco(3-5 strong cigarettes/1L water) + few drip of soap. Tobacco is pesticide and soap choke up these bitches. But this solution is for small contamination of mites and must be repeated everyday for 3-5 days. This is good way for bud rot in 2 weeks from harvest. Try Plant Vitality plus or something what contain abamectin. Plant Vitality plus, the very best there is. When you absolutely, positively, have to kill every single mite in the room; accept no substitute. hehe fight with mites is long distance run and you must treat all flowers in your house.sorry for my bad english. good luck

Whatever u do dont use anything with tobbacco. Thats terrible advice. If u do u will run the risk of getting whats called "tobacco mosaic virus". If u throw a cigarette butt down in the soil theres a chance that nothing will grow in that area for the next 80 years, fuckd up eh. After enjoyin a cig i personally always wash my hands before i even toch my plants, i dont wanna take any chances on the risk of gettin the virus

I Bought some Plant Vitality Plus, shit smells like paint remover/stripper, errggghh, put me off but ive got it there if i need it. I really wanted to try a product called 'MiteRid', from Australia from what i can gather, ive found a supplier in the UK(Cardiff), seemed to be hard to find but if does what says on tin then its the one you want. I see some insectisides/mitesides can be used on the day of harvest for consumable crops. 2 weeks from finish i wouldnt bother now buddy! maybe use some GHRipen, that'll help finish up your crop on time or before, its good stuff & designed to finish Crops in a hurry like yourself now, thats what id do, GH Ripen! G'Luck!

Dizzie mate, alot of people are gonna recommend Tobbacco & it aint bad advice at all bro, they dont mean go smearing tobbacco leaf all over your plants leaves, it's the chemicals inside the tobbacco(namely Nicotene) that your after. You can steep tobbacco/cigs in hot water over night, filter off with coffie filters and apply to infected plants via foliar. its a well known DIY mitecide tobbacco is bro & used in many many homemade recipes for mitecides &* insectasides. TMV is always a worrie though bro & i personally appreciate your concern, but if handled properly & as it should be then the chances of getting TMV are very slim, I already wash my hands like i have a raging OCD problem as it is. definatly worth mentioning TMV though, not everyone will have heard of it. Anyone that plays with Tobbacco & then MJ Plants then be sure to wash up your hands real good, cause you dont wanna get TMV, its mingin!

I got rid of my last Mite infestation with a homemade Mitecide containing steeped tobbacco juice as one of the minor ingredients. Vinegar & Bicarb being the main constituents, apple peel, honey& milk soap, did the trick, then my plant vitality arrived & i never got the chance to try it, DIY brews do work sometimes it seems!.

I was recently investigating preditory insects. I started out looking for lady bugs.

The people i ended up talking to in montana, told me about preditory mites. These mites will not harm your plants. They will also eat any other mites in you room. :tiphat:

You can find preditory mites online :tiphat:

Preds are exellent the Phytoseiulus persimilis are the ones you want, They kick ass for sure ime especially if your infestation is not so advanced. Expensive but well worth it.

I wouldnt use anything this close to harvest. Whatever you put on your plants you will most likely taste when you burn it. Do you have a way of making your room temp super low? Mites really slow down and die if the temp is low enough. Your plants wont be to happy but its better than having mites run the show. I had mites indoor and on my outdoor it took me weeks of figuring out the right death juice but I believe I found it. I bought some azatrol, spinosid, and some dr. bronners peppermint soap. I mix the azatrol and spinosid to recommended amounts per gal, and for the soap I use 2 tsp per gal. This mixture worked really well for me I only did 2 applications and the mites were gone for good.

No pest strips...about 4 of them in my 10x14 room with the fans off killed em but the eggs hatch and they will come back. If ya find something that will rid everything for good...best get a patent...then message me and let me know what it is...hehehe

Gooood luck...I hate em

10,000 ppm's of Co2 is supposed to work V-Well i believe, seal room-fill with Co2, leave as long as possible(an hour or 2 should do it-but check timeframe), remember to exchange the air/gas before you go back in, & hey-presto, Dead Mites. Just dont forget to drain the room of the Co2 gas, 10,000ppms could be lethal. There are threads about with this info & its supposed to work! defo the one id go for this close to harvest!! Not so sure this works on the Eggs though! but i know it'll kill mite!

I am surprised that nobodys mentioned the Co2 overdose tecnique.

Thanks for all the info an help from everyone, seems i cant do anything for this one apart from keep spraying with water and squashing the mites i can see, according to my schedule im a week and 2 days from harvest but by the looks of the bud development it may be a few weeks away, the bottom of her looks really heathy but the top is set right back, buds look like buds on a plant thats only just started to flower? never come across this before, will try to upload some pictures today, as for the mites! once this baby has finished im gonna exterminate them all, got a few small unknown strains/sex's that i can test alot of the pest controls mentioned above and i few others ive been told about.
