Yayyy! My first colloidal silver generator (photo)

Well here's a nice double post.

Today I found balls sacks, the only reason I found them is cus my plant is purpling and the sacks where striped. So I'm going to save a few, but I'm pretty sure my CSS worked again! Now hopefully everything works out and I can get some seeds, finally!

:) Fingers crossed my friend. If in doubt simply keep saturating the plant with CS until she gives in

how long do sacks take to fill with pollen? i been spraying for two weeks now and nothing so i noticed my mix was not as strong as last time so i let it brew till i had silver layer floating up top and water was yellow with a lot of tiny flickers of silver when looked up close.last time i made sacks the leaves were almost silver so i remembered and made a stronger mix hope it works again.how many times aday is good enough of spraying i been spraying once aday with the strong mix,i also want to say i have small buds forming at 20 days will i be able to get her to produce pollen sacks at this stage?

I usually spray twice a day, for about 2-3 weeks ... the pollen balls obviously don't start forming immediately upon the first application, so just be patient and keep spraying until you start to see them forming - then stop spraying, nature will take its course then :)

high man, good to see you back!

anyway, i posted up a couple questions back in July so you probably didn't see them but here is a link to that post.

i also wanted to know if you could clarify some things i'm not sure of, mainly, i was wondering if you had come up with an optimal voltage and amperage. (i'm using a 9volt, 750 miliamp transformer)

i am in the first stages of my first CS run now, having sprayed my target female 2 - 3 times a day for the last 10 days and i can definately see a grayish coating on my leaves so i'm planning on flipping this weekend, wish me luck.

so, thanks again for starting this thread and for continuing to keep it going, i am really looking forward to popping some of my own femmed crosses thanks to you!

peace, and stay safe, SOG

So is a higher PPM liquid better? The guy I know that makes commercial col/ionic silver water just gave me a bottle of 200+ PPM water. I told him about people using it for seeds and took him some time to get it that high, says it was a difficult process (never done it that high ppm before)

Here's a photo of it with my ppm pen. If anyone one wants to test it out I could get him to make be a few 250/500ml bottles.

I'll see if I can get photos of his lab, pretty crazy setup.

I'd be happy to test it for yah! I've always used gibberellic so this is all new to me.

I'll have to wait till he makes some more, says its a complicated process to make it that high ppm. Should have some in the next two days also will post photos of his crazy setup.

Sounds good Bud, keep me posted! Can't wait to see the pics. Maybe we can think of some more experiments for him to do as well. ;-)

i believe the female needs approx. 4 weeks to grow
a viable seed after pollination, i may be off a little
but i doubt by much.

...so day 60 for a 12 week or longer sativa would
probably be ok but not so good for an 8 week
indica, lol.

high PhenoMenal, it's really good to see you still here
servicing your thread answering questions and offering
advice and encouragement!

:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

i started this thread last night and read through page
20 before calling it a night, then i started again this
morning and read every word! . . .one of the absolute
best
threads on the site in my opinion and, for real,
you have changed things in a big way for me!

i also give you an awful lot of credit for your patience
in dealing with the less inspired questions, your tact
was almost perfect, lol.

anyway, my only question is more regarding breeding
and not CS generation or application and that is am i right
in assuming that if i take a clone of my, lets say, ChemD
and force it, then use that pollen to seed a clone sister,
it will give me the next best thing to clones in seed format?

and, lol, ...if i were to use that same pollen to pollinate
my Grand Daddy Purps, would i not get variation, coming
from 2 different parents, albeit, both female, as it were?

in other words, if i'm right in my assumptions, isn't this
where the real gold is? ...isn't it in the variation where
we may find offspring that might surpass both parents?

hopefully, that is the case as i can see myself forcing
a clone of each strain in my collection and using that
pollen to cross with every other strain in the archive
and then popping beans in search of the gold, lol.

again, i want to say thank you for this thread, and for
still being here for us who come late to the party!

peace, and stay safe, SOG

actually, this was the first time i addressed you directly.

afaik, pollinating a clone of the source would be clone-like and using the source on another female would give variation.
Your CD to GDP would give tons of variation, I'd imagine. :dunno:

But, i don't know the answer for sure, and I'd like other people to chime in. This is a great thread and we need more info. :prettyplease:

Right now, I lost a seed, and found another one in my lower buds? So I know they are growing but still only see one physically. right now they are between an embyro stage and a light green hard shell. The one I can see is regular size, but light green with only a couple dots of brownish.

There are ball sacks and banana's on the bottom half of the plant and I only sprayed one side. One time I sprayed into the plant on accident, but I guess that was enough?

I've collected alot of the ball sacks, and some banana's in a old film canister. Cracked the lid so they can dry. Hoping to take a clone and pollinate it for another seed run soon in 6 months. I'm pretty sure I've got at least my goal of 10 seeds, prolly 50+. Now should I leave a few sacks or keep plucking them to save?

Which stage?-banana or sack

Pollen (feminised or regular) isn't viable for very long, you should use it ASAP. I don't think you'll have much if any success after 6 months.

Pollen Viability
This might help. Taken from marijuanagrowing.eu

Found at: http://www.marijuanagrowing.eu/collecting-pollen-t24243.html

In order to store pollen for long periods of time, it is important to remove as much of the water content in the pollen as possible. Store the pollen in a glass jar or vial, avoiding plastic bags, which can breathe and are not the best for long-term storage.

To reduce the water content in the pollen, place some desiccant in the bottom of the container. I use an indicating desiccant. When dry this material is blue, and as it absorbs moisture, it turns pink. By using an indicating desiccant, you can tell when it has absorbed all the moisture it can. It is impossible to tell whether regular desiccant is still dry just by looking at it. Once indicating desiccant has absorbed all the moisture possible, it turns pink. Place it in the oven and bake it until it turns blue again. This desiccant can be used over and over again. The amount of desiccant you use depends on the amount of pollen you are trying to dry out. I have found that 1/2 - 1" in the bottom of the container works well. The paper packets are then placed on top of the desiccant.

By using paper packets, which can breathe, the desiccant can do its job. Instead of using one big packet for all of your pollen, place the pollen in small packets so one packet can be removed quickly without disturbing the unused pollen. ... Write the species name and date stored on both sides of the packet so you can tell later on how old the pollen is.

Once I cap the vial, I place it in the refrigerator for two days. I do not place it directly in the freezer because the pollen's moisture content is too high; water expansion can rupture the pollen and render it in-viable.

Once the pollen has been in the vial for at least two days, and as long as the paper packet has had enough breathable area, moisture content will be reduced enough for you to put the vial in the freezer. Once the vial is in the freezer, the pollen should be good for years. I have found that pollen will stay very fresh for at least three years.

Hi guys, I see a lot of Seed Company’s are selling auto flowering femseeds.
I was thinking about spraying one and making a shit load of auto flowering fem seeds.
Sound like a good plan??

Been there, done that. Works.

Problem with autoflowers is, down the road you can't keep fem'ing the fems. So you gotta maintain a line that you breed with males.
