Growlush White Tents, Anyone had probs ?

I have been growing for some years now but this year has been my worst season. I set up a 2.8 x 1.4 x 2.0 m growtent and decided to grow some herbs. First run on hydge in a 250 mm aero pipe i had nothing but probs, thinking they were just deficencies, more and more probs popped up every day. NOW after reading the off-gassing thread here, everything makes sense now. I have about 20 seedlings in the tent now under 2 x 600watt HPS threw cooltubes, trying to get something going and allready i notice, yellowing, slow growth, curling leaves, symptoms of dying plants. My ph in my organic mix is 6.2, i water every 2 day with organic ferts 3/4 strength.

Tonight the tent will be shut down, when i get home from work tomorrow i will dismantle the fuckin thing and see if i can get some of my hard work to come back to life under a couple of 250 mh lights on 18/6. If anyone is interested in this i will post some pics along the way, as i am pissed, because i didn't think that i was doing anything wrong.

I am done with pulling my hair out and thinking about how to rectify something, because after everything i read tonight, imo it is, which i found hard to believe, the fucking Growlush tent and the poisoning off gassing being omitted. Lets see how true this could be...

sorry to hear abouit your tent problems mate
i use a homebox they used a different method to coat the inside of the tent hence no off gassing probs only thing is they are pricie i paid $1200 for my 2 x 2 x 4

It totally sucks that you got one of those tents that give off poisonous gases I read about them before buying my tent and decided to go with one lined with mylar instead. It did cost a little more (thank god it wasn't $1200) but it seems to be doing the job.

I haven't read the thread you mentioned, but was there any mention of how long the gasses are released? I was just thinking that if it were to stop over time you could just leave a small light running in there for the 6 months or what ever it would take and then your tent would be useable again.

Thanks guys but the stupid thing on my part was i tried to correct everything inside the tent instead of researching. The tent i didn't even think of, it's in the trailer now ready to go to the landfill, (unless someone wants to buy it off me LMFAO)..Oh well have some that might be able to come back to life, hopefully the Erdpurt, and some seedlings fresh out of the incubater called DC x Zoidfuel, Cheese x, Early Durban x DC. See how it pans out hey.

Thanks again but back to the start with peace of mind i hope, building a room this time on the weekend just for flowering, then maybe crank another aeropipe.

No i wont bother Headstone, ill fuck it off completely, not worth keeping it up as it takes up too much room... Good thought tho, thanks mate...

I'm typing this on my fone cause i work away and i'm in my donga in the middle of w.a. With nothing but my nokia n85 and nextg! I just had to share my off gasing experience. I had a wardrobe with no doors i was using 4 a clone/mother chamber. I stuck a bit of panda film on it with velcro as a door. Same as you, i was trying to correct phantom deficiencies and was lost for a cause. It clicked after many many frustating months. I stuck my head in and thought it smelt a bit like a pool. Chlorine!!? Just a faint hint. Kind of like opening a brand new plastic lunch box. Plasticky. I put it down to the panda film. Investigations revield i was in possession of two types of panda. One was thicker and could have been fine. I didn't chance it. I bought a silver coloured tent. Never looked back. Off gasing is a bitch and its something you dont think of. Kudos to who ever discovered what it was that was killing our children. And don't 4get. There is growing evidence that increased use of plastics in the food industry is contributing to the increased infertility rates in males.

Has your same grow method worked outside of a tent? What exactly is your grow set up, nute, pH regime etc.

Things are all good now HC, i have some seedlings going, they are getting better by the day as they were in the incubater. I do believe the tent was the prob, my last grow went to shit, and the beginning of this one, but now things are looking good and after tommorrow i will have a flower room built and spend a few weeks decking it out proper.

There is probably different suppliers of the plastic material that goes on the inside of these tents. Even if you get the same brand, it could be a different batch.

What Bundy describes is definately akin to the off gassing saga. It looks like your babies are sufforing all sorts of nute defs and no matter how much you flush, change nute doses, correct the symptoms you just cant win.

I was for ever correcting what I thought were different nute defs. over the course of a year I was flushing and half dosing, flushing and 1.5x dosing, I was changing nute brands. I changed lights because I thought perhaps something was wrong with my fluros and I changed to different fluros, and eventully to a MH. I went from perlite to coco and then even to a bubbler.

I got temporary relief when I increased air flow, but now I know all that did was reduce the concerntration exposure which slowed down the effects. Over time though, the strange symptoms came back. I guess if you move from something like 1000ppm poison gas down to 200ppm poison gas it just takes longer to affect them.

If you walk into a hydroponics shop now days you will find that they dont sell those white lined tents any more. Or if they do they have really done the research on them. Always ask before you buy about off gasing and if they look at you with a stunned look then they dont know about it, or its old stock their just trying to dodgely get rid of. Their not your friend.

Search for off gas on any forum and you'll find a few threads on the subject.

Unlcky bro, I bought ione of those tents too, about 3 years back, It fucked everything and set me back about ten months, the dude replaced it though with a mylar tent and its all go from there

bundy - Was just catching up on whats been going on in this fourm and noticed this one,ive not time to read all the comments if this has been stated already,?

My only problems where i didnt blacken out the room i put my tent in, as youl now bw aware they do indeed leak light, just little spots of light here and there, I had a few hermie issues that grow, so yeah best to blacken out the room properly also.

Anything Growlush is absolute shite in my xperience. Good for 1 or 2 grows @ most and I would never use any of their stuff in my flower cab. It's just as they say - you get what you pay for. As for the tent M8, I used one of their white-lined offerings in veg for a while until the zips all decided it was a bit too much of an effort. Had no trouble with off-gassing though. B4 I used the tent I laid it out in the sun for nearly 2 wks, white side up. Maybe you could try this & put it back into action. Good luck anyway M8.

Bundy - I have a growlush white tent. 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m. Running 1 x 600w HPS & 2 x 6" fans. I'm not using hydro. Just Potting mix and 20L pots, and mostly using it for mother plants and cloning. Haven't had any of your problems though. I've had it for 12 months now and it's working great. Did do a batch of white widows that got really moldy when the fans switched off for 12 hours, but can't blame the tent for that one.

Yes mate same here, had a small tent like yours and raised a few mums years ago with no probs, but the 2.8 x 1.4 x 2.0 was different inside, had like a clear film over the white, i have cut it to pieces and threw it away.

Fruitbat i am a great believer in if you buy something it should work from the word go, this tent didnt work so i fucked it off, was costly but now my results are great. You shouldnt have to buy a tent and take it out of the box and leave it in the sun for a month first, my biggest mistake was not researching the product first before buying it. Set me back 6 months.

Hmm, i just oredered a growlush tent, im hoping less heat generated by LED wont induce this off gassing caper.
I noticed the other night my cab is hovering about 94F. Too fkn hot for my liking so i added a 120mm fan to exhaust out the top. I was wondering why my sativa stopped growing and now consider maybe the heat was the cause, hoping anyways.
What about painting the interior of the growlush tent to prevent off gassing?
