Right now you are Hydro Drain To Waste if you set up a reservoir it is Hydro Recirculating, there is a difference in nutrient amounts.Drain to waste is the cheapest to build and operate, just requires initiative.

It is called 'Soilless' or 'Passive Hydroponics'. It falls under the 'Hydro' tree. Basically anything that is on a liquid only diet falls under 'hydroponics'.
And whether you have to check EC or PH or not has nothing to do with it. For example using pure perlite, bottom feeding with drain trays, using organic PH buffered nutrients, I don't have to check EC or PH. Organic Passive Hydroponics ;)

Coco is hydro no matter what method you use to irrigate it's hydro. Hand feeding? then it's passive hydro. Auto-feeding method? Then it's active hydro. Don't matter wether you feed from top or bottom.

It's not a soilless mix if it's pure coco, a soilless mix has nutes in it and coco doesn't which is why it's a hydro medium.

I'm good with everything but....

I thought coco coir, generally, was 'pre-loaded' with nutes.. and
should be rinsed before use in 'hydro' systems... I dono.

If your Using COCO and Hydro nutes (chemical) its hydro,If your Using COCO and there are organic nutes Like thing's with Micro Organisms that break things down its Not soil but very close so I would call it Organic hydro but to differentiate its a type of soil as soon as your composting and such.

Aweh :)
