LED 90w UFO...I Need Help and Advive!!!!

I am trying to grow in a micro cabnet and I wanted to put a LED in to cut down on power consumption. I was thinking about the 90w LED UFO from HTGSUPPLY.COM I dont want to spend 150.00 bucks on it if its just gonna suck. I have contemplated the use of a 150watt HPS with a cool tube but I really want to cut down on the electricity that I use because my land lord already pays the bill, so I didnt want to spike the bill by 25% or something any comment I would love it. Please leave any info such as websites wattage wavelengths maybe any pics of setups or how much you pulled with an LED.

ive had great success with ufos. for what ur doin i would say its perfect. they run cool and produce nice nugz. hit me with ne ?s ya got. now they r completely ovr hyped dont think ur 90w is gonna equal a 400w or a 600. it is 90w and works like 90w. i pull close to 8 zips average out of my 4x2x5 closet with 2 90w+cfls. im goin back to hid cause i got a place where i can plug in a few 1ks and the ufos are gonna be used in veg. heres a few shots of my ufo grows.

it all depends on what ur tryin to do and takes some learnin to max ur yield with these. but for ur situation i would gettem and actually am reccomendin them.
good tip dont put to many plants under a light ive had best results with 1 plant per light got close to 3zips. i prefered 3 plants 2 lights with cfls hangin in middle lower to fatten up lower buds. any ? ya got feel free to hit me i think i might of been one of the most successful growers using the ufo leds. i never tried ledgurls they seem to kick some ass as well even though the cost alot. but i spent my $$ on a few 1k pl ballasts peace stone

Hola amigo. I am not an expert on leds or indoor growing. but I have gained some hands on expirence with my supernova LED. I have not used any other growlights except t5s since I started indoors and my led has made the transition to indoors a breeze. I have had good luck with my light but it did cost way more than a regular hid,and it has been worth every penny. I would say that a 90 watt would be fine for 2-3- plants max or a scrog grow.But BEWARE of cheap leds. Expect to pay at least 400 bucks for a good 90w. Have a look at my page, All the buds were flowered under leds. I would be glad to help you however I can.

This is from my 2nd indoor cut. Mexi bagseed. Grown from seed to this with leds.

Those supernovas are nice
I have had excellent experience with using leds
Just don't buy into that wattage comparison thing
l.e.d.'s cannot be compared to other sources of light
Its like comparing apples with oranges

400 watts of HID light does not equal 90 watts from an l.e.d. source

I don't know how tight (penny pinching) you landlord is, but the difference in electricity consumption between a 150W with a cooltube and a 90W LED is not much. Even allowing another 20W for the cooltube fan, that's only an extra 0.08kW/hr which is not much more than the average laptop.

the electrical difference wouldn't be much in your particular case.

You may just consider how you could save some electrical costs in other areas of your living space to compensate.
You are talking the amount of electricity that would be used by 2 floor lamps you might add to your living rm.

Look at changing some of your light switches to dimmers ... this will cut back on your electrical usage and compensate for any added electrical usage you may have with a micro grow.

http://www.htgsupply.com/viewimage.asp?ID=868 How would I incoparate this into a very limited space of 12x11.5x16 I could cut a hole in the bottom and run the carbon filiter in the bottom cab that is the same demensions would that work or does that carbon filter need to be in the nug room or can i pull are out and through the carbon instead or in and out

UFO's suck really bad as far as LED growing goes yeah they will work but not very well and they take forever to grow plants. Get the new half size Lumigrow 165 watt light it's half the size of the big expensive 330 watt ES model. It will crush any yields of any UFO! :canabis:
