hiya all, i transplanted my 2half week seedlings from a shallow bed of light mix into small pots of all mix, although half look fine, the other half although there stems are all straight and proper, the tops have wilted and look similiar to clones[ when just transplanted into medium from mother plant] which pick up after a day or so,is this the same with these young seedlings? or has the transplant took its toll?, i transplanted around 2pm today. am i worrying too much or do i need to invest in new beans? i know this is a quite simple question and i should know myself after so many years but i really cant remember a time when seedlings wilted so much after a simple transplant, advice or re -assurence needed please, they are underneath a supernova fluorescent thanks 944s2:tiphat:

As long as the medium isnt burning them they are most likely just a bit shocked from the transplant. They will start looking better in a few days.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck with your grow.

a bed you say? if you dug them up shallow then you may have cut the taproot as that goes quite deep quite quick. spraying them lightly might help them survive while they try to recover.

unless you have a good reason for trays then i would say pots are better as you'll get less root disturbance. little ones 4 or 5 inches deep are what i use .

fingers crossed for them

Are they still alive?
hiya dc, out of 16 wilted babies, i only lost 3 even though the stems are erect i believe they dont look like they have the strength to pull through as for the others they are fine, all with new growth, sweetooth is a pretty sturdy strain and the 3 i think i will lose may pull as i have been trying to give them much love,if they dont pick up by sunday i will have to thin them out, regards and peace 944s2:)

thanks vg, so annnoyed with myself for making such a stupid error, babies were left too long in shallow light mix, usually use small pots but had run low on light mix so used the trays, looks like i might have only lost 3 out of 16, so added to the 14 that were unaffected, so still have 27 sweetooth babies, regards and peace 944s2:)
