caligula?

i sent those in, still sending them in as i can. caligula is a sexy mix of seeds starring my menage a trois mother plant, which is fucking awesome i'm not going to lie you. i've been growing these seeds out for most of the year and have found some nice gems, some better than the parents used.

the mother is a light feeder, use >100 ppm less than other strains in your system if possible. veg for at least 6 weeks, it is quite slow at first, i do recommend topping and training. the chemdog and c99 phenos(both common) need extra support for their weak branching. tomato cages and extra carbon scrubbers are good things if you are going to grow these seeds. the chemdog phenos yield much more than anything so far out of the outdoor 09 batch.

growing anything quality takes time. if you go by clones you can cut the veg time down to a 1 or 2 weeks and still get a decent yield, but you will have to increase your plant count to make up space and yield. i'd rather have less plants and achieve more yield myself.

I just got a freebie pack of Caligula and was looking for some info, came across this thread.

So it's pretty much a mixed bag of a bunch of males and your Menage a trois mom? Is there anyway to tell what to expect? or is it a pretty random crap shoot...

I like the potential...but i don't know if i have the patience to start these not knowing at all what i'll get.

Can you give me some idea of what to expect?
Finish times? height? %Sativa/%Indica ?

Maybe i'll crack one at a time and casually check them out along side my main gear.

Thanks!

the outdoor seeds are slightly larger and a lighter color, the indoor(chemdog males) are darker. or was it the other way around

i don't really think of growing seeds as a crap shoot if there's something in there your looking for, it's worth the search. everybody wants clones these days and even those are a crap shoot with mites, mildew, and fake names aplenty. can you believe somebody once gave me a clone that produced no resin at all. i've never seen a plant without trics, even hemp has trics.

there's some pretty good genetics involved here, i've been really happy with what i've grown out. chemdog d is arguably the most potent elite clone around these days and i happen to like my menage a trois mother more. her smell is not that putrid but sweet and the finished buds look incredible. the two together are a nice balance of high potentcy and yield, chemdog lifted the yield, growth rate and stretch, menage has stronger branches and resin development that chemdog lacks.

golf ball sized frosty chem x menage nuggets in my pipe all day long.

none have taken more than 70 days to finish, 55ish the least but i usually take mine later than most. mostly indica genetics here but strong sativa charteristics from the chemdog, c99, menage, etc. all wonderful daytime weed. not too many phenos i've found resemble or smoke like the mazar i sharif and deep chunk. your experience may differ.

best of luck

caligula?

Nice! Thanks for the info and narrowing it down a bit. My interest was definitely peaked by the list of involved genetics. Especially the chemdog.

I'll give it a shot in the next few runs.

Thanks! Nice freebies!

If Reddy1's caligula is anything like his calio99 I can atest to its kickassness. It was some of the most sweetest, fruity, covered in sugar bud, I've grown in quite a while!
