Can Pre-flowers produce seeds in veg???

Hey all,

So i've been growing up a White Widow clone recently & it's started to show pre-flower female pistils for about a week or 2 now. I'm just wondering, if those pistils happened to come into contact with male pollen, would the ovules then produce seeds even though the plant is still in its vegetative cycle? Or would it just ignore the pollen because the actual internal hormone levels of the plant arent right for reproduction?

I've seen moms that are in veg produce seeds, the lil calyx will seed, without having to throw her into flower, but you only get maybe 15 or so, if that.

Ah k awesome has_some_sinse! Yeh i wasnt sure if pistils were merely the plant showing that it's mature & ready to flower or whether it was actually capable of reproducing so thanks for clearing that up :)

Contrary to that, do you know anything about male pre-flowers? Will the 2 pollen sacks at each node swell and drop pollen or just sit there simply to show sex?

I've not seen it happen, currently I have 3 boys (Cannacopia-C99 x DC, Mr. Nice-SSH, my private stock-Cinderella 99 F2), and have never had any problems in my veg room, and they have never hit my flowering girls. From my point, I don't believe it would pop sacs, or if they do, I haven''t seen it or it must be nonviable yet.

Hahah wow that's pretty cool Grass Lands. So you left your plants in veg for about 4-5 weeks after they received pollen & the seeds developed just fine?

weird.^^ I have an SD male in my veg room. Its a clone of the original and never been flowered. It seems to be staying in veg growth and I've had to trouble with it.
