i dont know why all that drama...passing joint is not legal...he did it...it was obvious there would be some State control...and it was cannabis fest where you can read: "dont smoke cannabis":bump: well some did it and were ok, and some did it and werent ok..canabis is ilegal in Czech Republic...

but like normal person you can smoke at Old-Town Square in Prague if you want...in parks, in many bars...in some bars where you can buy weed..if they know you, they will sell you...

Czech Decrimalises All Drugs

The Czech Republic followed Portugal to become the second European country to formally decriminalise drug possession this week, announcing specific quantities beneath which users will not be prosecuted.

Under the new laws (which come into force on January 1) Czech people will be allowed to possess up to 4 ecstasy tablets. 15 grams (half an ounce) of marijuana, 5 grams of hash and 1 gram of cocaine with prison sentences still a potential threat for those in possession of more.

Legendary Czech club promoter Ales Bleha told Skrufff he’s delighted about the new laws though said he expects them to have minimal impact on people in Czech.

“Few people have any problems with drugs here already, unless they deliberately provoke the police or do stupid things and people who already smoke marijuana or use hard drugs will do so the same as before,” he predicted. “The Czech Republic is already sometimes called the 2nd Amsterdam or ‘Amsterdam of the East’.

“But what’s really important about these new laws is that they represent genuine decriminalization which is an important next step towards full legalization which I believe is the only possible solution for dealing with drugs and reducing the damage associated with them. I don’t consider drug users as a problem, the problems come from the criminals and mafias involved in selling them,” he said.

“I think the quantities they’ve set are OK too,” Ales continued. “At least speaking from my own personal experience, I only smoke marijuana so I can’t really speak about the other drugs but I’d certainly never have more than five grams on me.”

“I’d also like to thank the many people who never give up this fight and worked hard to explain to the government that it’s better to control the drug problem rather than to rely on repression.”

“I hope that drugs will be legalized in the whole Europe within the next decade or two,” he added, “It is the best way how to take this problem under control because as I already said – the real problem is that presented by drug dealers and drug mafia, not about users. And when drugs are forbidden prices go up and they become more attractive for young people.”

hey gaiusmarius! that article is a bit too optimistic nothing like decriminalisation happend here acctualy ...before change the law was better ...before u can have 1kg for your personal use and when they can not prove you was selling it you never get in jail ..now they just set a limits ...nothing is legal ..less than 15 grams of weed = penal offence = fine (700 euro is most u can get) more than 15 grams = crime by paragraph 187. So before it was common that guys with 100 or 200 grams was considered consumers and get out without trial or any jail. Now its more than 15 grams = real problems. So decriminalization is really eufemistic term for this.

I think corrupted czech police must love this ..also anyone profiteering from continuous illegality of this substance must be at heaven ..thats exactlly what I and I call babylon...

wow that's bad news, i was under the impression that they decriminalized possession up to 15 g of cannabis? is that not true? they still fine you for less then 15g? what was the point of the big news about you guys in Czech decriminalizing ALL drugs for personal use? very strange, big disappointment, really thought they had taken a great step forward.

yes man sorry to dissapoint you but thats it new law is only good for police that can now left heroin junkie on street and not make their car dirty while transporting him to station:D ...otherwise no really legal limit ..even 0,1g of weed still illegal ..actually I consider this much worse law for pot smokers and growers than old one ..law say planting 5 or less plants is also just for fine now BUT at point you cut the plants down it become marihuana and its measured in grams so if you are lucky enough to plant more than 15 grams on 5 "legal" plants and you cut dem down you have just commited CRIME by paragraph 187 and can get 1-5years in prison:D Thats so fucked up for growers I think it hardly can be worse ..
...and also I think we both just cant believe articles anymore ..my say soma still in prison yours that there is legal ammount in czech republic:D thats what I and I call babylon propaganda...

thats not what i said, even if you foreigner you can smoke at Old-Town Square, but if yourenot fully stupid, you dont smoke in front of police heh, if i know at cannabizz there were busted also czech citizens for passing and smokin joints:)
...police can change illegality of cannabis in no way...its thing of THE LAW hehe...kind of law it will be never change first in Czech Republic...it must happen in much more bigger country, like California...you GK has to be child...again show me wheresnot corruption hehe:wave: ya like bitchin?

@geteixkeeper: Hi mate, from Spain!! My girl is czech, so I can understand this as she translates....
I know this about High Times Cannabis Cup, they registered the name to make cash big way, so.....
They did the same 1 month ago in Spain, in the Canary Islands where there is a long-term (10 years old now) Cannabis Cup, too.... They were menaced with being sued, hardcore way....
They had to change the name.
A huge boikot sense is growing among spanish growers against High Times magazine and CC , as we all think this is too much corporative, go on.....:pirate::spanky:
Cannarias gave loads of seeds for free, kept and reproduced LMN strains and spreaded for FREE in the whole world .... keepin long sativas to reproduce and give for free is not easy job...
