Recomend a fan for 1000 watt hps

I am running a 1000 watt hps in a closet 3 feet deep, 5 feet long...

My temps are a little higher than I would like, (average of 86 degrees F), and thats with running a 4" 265 CFM fan attached to the light.

From another post it sounds like I will need at least a 500 CFM fan to keep that puppy cool...

Any suggestions as to what brand? Hydrofarm, vortex, or some other manufacturer? Also, will 500 CFM be sufficient to keep them temps down, or do I need to go bigger??

I have accumulated an Eclipse 6", two Vortex 6", and an Eco-Plus 6".

My order of preference is Vortex -> Eclipse -> Eco-Plus

I use my Vorex's for cooling the lights, the Eclipse (on a speed controller) for my carbon filter, and the Eco-Plus for things like a door stop during the summer, and if I get ambitious in the winter I may use it to cool a 600.

Thanks...I was leaning towards a 6 or 8" vortex, than while searching the internet I came across Elicent inline fans...these look pretty kickass.

Are inline fans easy to install? Anyone know if Elicent fans come with mounting hardware?

Trace an outline of the fan's flanges (place fan on a square piece of plywood) and then use the resulting cut out as a support for the fan. I basically ended up with two about foot and half on each side squares of plywood with holes cut in both, that then slipped over the fan's ends. This in turn formed the basis for going ahead and forming a box around the fan that was airtighted. The controls are mounted outside the box. The box can be mounted quite easily where ever needed. One can fill the box up with Great Stuff foam, fan all and in there. But if you do this, tape the seams and holes on the fan itself so foam doesn't get inside the fan.

I used a 1000w in an 8" hood in a closet that was 3.5' x 6' x 8' and a 400cfm fan (S&P td-200x) kept the light very cool and the room nicely ventilated.

From what I gather the best all around fans for 1000w is the 8" Vortex, they also have the best warranty.

I have one 8" vortex down in my garage cooling 5k. unless you live in LA and don't have AC, a 6" will be fine.

put the mounting brackets on the fan, then hang the fan by a bungee cord, quietest way I have found. whenever i mount them directly to something solid, even with the rubber spacers, it vibrates the fuck out the wall
