just looking over my small crop of seeds from a ppp x cali-o cross
some of the seeds are the typical nice dark brown/striped variety, i like those
some of the others are a light gray/brown color, they don't look immature(maybe they are, not sure), they are just as large as the dark colored seeds
so i'm wondering is it possible to have different types of seed 'phenotypes' from the same plant?
the pollen came from the same male, shouldn't be variation

igrowone, I'm not sure if you can get different pheno seeds from the same male. I've only made seeds 8 times and they've been uniform each time. One exception in a bought pack was casey jones some of the seeds in that pack of 14 looked completely different from each other. I was thinking they were from different females. In your case 1st try pinching them between your fingertip and thumbtip to see if they hold up to the squeeze test. If they're no good they won't survive the squeeze. Also, any chance the darker ones still have a thin coating on the outside?

no coating on the dark seeds, just the common tiger striping
the other seeds look like the mazar-i-sharif freebies from sb, color wise, just bigger
i'm reluctant to start squeezing just yet, total of about 12 seeds, but will think about that when i get to trying one

The tiger striping and other blotches like what you describe can come off. I had a batch of seeds from a bagseed female crossed with a male WillieNxStrawberryD whose seeds would come out with cool tiger stripes. But with just a little rubbing or even just popping out of the buds would be enough to rub off the stripes leaving a raw grayish brown seed.

Try rubbing some with stripes, bet they will come off easily.

thanks, was familiar with 'rubable' tiger stripes, i think that's pretty common
you may well be right on the stripes being pulled off, the pods were quite clingy, very resinous is PPP, was kind of like fly paper
