OLD NZ bush sativa !

If you ever grew out the outdoor New Zealand bush sativa back in the 1980's or early nineties, you would agree its best suited to our climate and finishs quite early, around the beguinning of April it would be ready to harvest,

finished early Yet its a sativa, well yes but the plants we used to grow out back then were simillar in appearence to skunk number one, not all but some were, before i stopped growing it as a teenager i did get to see a full on skunk indica pheno plant, i didnt know what it was back then, no one else seemed to know either, skunk was still unheard of in these days, or just comming into the lime light i should say,

It smelt rotten like a sewarge type smell you get in caliofornian indicas, my older companions thought it best to get rid of it incase it infected my entire crop, the rest of my mothers were extremely big, stretchingl over 12 foot high with lots of budding sites,

alas the whole crop was stolen that year, so i didnt get a chance to see what become of the smelly indica i grew out off the nz bush sativa seeds i had interbreed year after year with my friends at the time, 1986-89

My question to the kiwi folk about is can we still get hold of these old nz sativa seeds,?

Id really appereciate any and all feed back on these plants, I had some old seed myself but they didnt sprout properly due to not keeping the seeds in a cool dry spot, if id used the fridge then id have had much better success.

Theres a kiwi on seeds boutique selling various outdoor strains and from the sound of it he has been around awhile.

KWS- Rays Choice

Breeder : Kiwi Seeds
Flowering Time : 70 - 80 Days
Environment : Indoor / Outdoor
Seeds Per Pack : 10
1987 was the year that set Kiwiseeds on it's path to success. It was that year that Ray, a very good friend of mine,
and an extremely fine grower with a wealth of breeding knowledge,
came back from California with handful of gigantic cannabis seeds.
These turned out to be as far as we know the very first indica plants grown in our part of the world, and it changed our lives for good.
Within the 1st season we had bred our own hybrids using our strong home-grown sticky sativas and crossing them with the Afghani indica genetics bought back by Ray.
These first F1 hybrids were fantastic! Ray's choice is a 85%/15% sativa/indica cross (because Ray only liked a little indica in his sativa) It's a strong grower,
forming magnificant colas. It's sweet and fruity and oozing resin that turns sticky when dry.
Finishing times are fairly good for the quality/quantity content. Choice Ray! Thanks mate!

Thanks for stopping by overgrowing kiwi,,!

And some of this info on Ray makes alot of sense to me know, as in why i most likely found that indica pheno plant amongst my 1988-89 crop,?

Now i need to ask ray ray if and did any of his seeds make there way to Ashvegas canterbury,? we had one guy living in ashburton back then whom new alot about breeding and nutrients etc, id best not mention his name here though,

What im trying to get back now is a southland born and breed plant called the AFGHANNI PINK" - A friend of mind and companions made it themselves about 15 or so years ago from seeds they obtained themseves overseas, the tops turn pink at 7-8weeks, a guri type of weed, sticky sticky and tastes of old school honney and garlic flavour, drool drool drool.

regards,
bambi.

ha" - favourite strain providing you grew them of course) - You cheeky young upstart you!

The sagamartha album were all grown about 5 years ago when i posted them on tonys fourms here, mainly hydro though, back in 2005 id have classed yumboldt in my top 3 strains, yet now its lost its flavor i reckon, im growing my own f/2's out now to see if i can get it looking more like it was in 2005' nice and lime green and stinky shit like smell ive found in one male so far, ive about 90 females so far, maybe another 5-10 late males to come,? - il get some photos next time i visit the crop if ya keen,

Number 1 - The kodiak gold (f/1) from refferman, he lost these seeds a few years ago and is why there no longer available, it was the shit that was the shit of all shit to be or ever will be for that matter, especially the lavender pheno amongst it, i crossed this with a afghan num/1 and it really gave new meaning to the term couch lock i shit you not,!

Alas i lost the kodiak&afghan in this form, but still have it in a plant i interbreed it with, this plant ive done abit of back crossing to get looking like the origional cross where it all started in 2005, aka big bud type of plant'

Mikado is another favourite of mine and many others about here, 45 day flower,
Afghan/1 - not a favourite of mine, pepper pheno, but finishs the same time as the mikado,

Afghanni pink - from southland NZ, this guri type weed is fucking delicious, old school flavours, hard to find these days,

And right now im working with the slyder plant because it yields so well as a clone only, and perhaps we can bring down the flowering time using the mikado or affie,? I used to get 3/half-4 ounces per clone' under a 600wtt light in a 35 litre bin, trouble is its a 9 wk flower'er.

yes il fix this, one day' year. ha"

time to go for a ride i think, ive not been on me bike much since i canned off it 8 months ago, got some good injuries from that escapade i tell ya, no licence either.

hahaha didnt mean to offend it does pay to ask though!

yeah mate chuck some photos up id be keen to have a gander!

as for the slyder 4oz per clone under 600w how many weeks did you veg?? i have a strain that ive run in soil 20l pot under 400w goes 8 weeks pulls 8oz per plant its a freakn monster .. heavy dense nuggs

none taken bud!

The slyder clone i had back in 2006-07 id vege for two weeks under 200wtt fluro's and put it straight into 12/12 in the 35litre bin, pretty good going for a clone, im trying to get it going again but the seed i was sent looks a tad old white looking, one has sprouted so far,

The plant you yield 8oz off is from a SEED grow you mean aye, and not as a clone,?
If its a clone then WOW" prey tell more --->

its from clone mate was veged for about 3 weeks was about 1.5ft tall then switched to 12/12 and had to train her over .. the main cola alone was 2oz+ .... grow space about a square metre ... big forearm sized colas x6 had to stake em up .. branches couldnt hold them ... standard nutes nothing special

bloody hell a clone ya dont say"

kind'a puts the ole slyder to shame then dont it, its not the old RKS brand is it"?
Im a road kill fan myself,
However, i love this word' however can your clone be grown indoors in extreme heat temps and still bud up nice and tight like a fist, and keep its resin flowing i ponder,? + i wish i had it now, ha"

This heat reason is why i normally grow afghan num/1 and mikado in the summer especially, the affie gets abit light, the mikado stays sticky though,

gidday bambi, ray's chioce is from dargaville - swooped by the kiwi seeds boys. i don't think they have the true strain in dargaville now. the afghani you talked about sounds similar to one i was given this year (last season) turned pink, grew well even with me putting it in late it still yielded well - BUT it was late, if it hadn't been a drought it would have molded badly. don't know where it originated but like someone said there's all sorts of interesting genetics floating around up here in the far north.

Sounds very famillar the afghani that turned pink on you, our one only turned pink on its tops around week 7 i think, maybe 8, this plant had been interbreed with purple afghans and many years ago crossed over with some kiwi shit up north around palmerston area i think, it were meant to be the shit that was the shit at the time and why they crossed it one of the breeders told me, i dont think they stablized it that well, but still well worth it, i miss it so much indeed,
ive a photo of it at my brothers place, il take a shot of it next time im visiting him,
cheers for stopping by too"

ps: any pics of the afghan ?

nice photos there bambi theres alot of plants in there! .. is this a current grow or an old one?

bambi

hi ya dugg"

Yeah a current grow, 6 x 600wtt lights of female y/boldts and one 400wtt light with sum pure kush variety i obtained off an americian friend, jewels of the south he called em i think because there good true ones and never been breed with before, one in particular looks like afghan kush, with a steel type of flavour to it,

ha'' yes too many plants in the room aye, ive another 20 clones of afghanni num/1 and a quick mikado that finish around day 44-49, and the 90 0r so female f/2 bolts should finish at 8 weeksmaybe 60 days,?, be a few late ones no doubt,
Why im doing this is simply because the yumboldt i recently grew out was a tad dissapointing in flavour and appearance in the females i had had changed quite abit since 2005,
perhaps whom ever kept things running at sagamartha the time tony did a lag in jail kinda mixed things up, differnt tastes or ways, who knows, im just trying to make it right again my friend,
reminds me ive gotta go feed em, canna bio flores" best organic nutrient on the market id say.,, fucking earth quakes just started up again'' better have a bong and go"

awesome bambi breeding is great fun... thats a decent setup there ... looks like youll find that yumbolt flavour your looking for there would have to be at least one good keeper out of 90 odd plants hahah .... that pic of mikado in your album looks nice ... careful what you say in your posts you might be giving away your location a bit (i could be wrong) ... you need to get your post count up to 50 mate so you can PM ... keep safe!

"kinda rooted" haha - yes but no. yumboldts look good bambi, i'll check out your album at some stage for that mikado - its a strain i've heard some pretty good things about. yep the beans and breeding are a pain in the arse, first cross a piece of cake, stabilising and back crossing is were it all becomes a mind fuck. hopefully the message will get to you, if not drop me a line and i'll have another go.
