Canna Coco A/B, Drip to Waste. Stable in the res?

Anyone have experience using Canna Coco A/B nutes, in a drip to waste setup? I have a 60 gal reservoir (non circulating). With GH nutes I can mix this up and it stays very stable for the 30 days it lasts me.

Is Canna Coco A/B stable? Will it last 30 days and not have problems?

Thanks for the help.

Out of curiosity, Do you use r/o or tap water? Do you aerate? Do you have any suggestions for maintaining a stable rez?
I also run to waste, but in my case I have to add PH down daily to maintain ph below 6 in a GH 6/9 reservoir; even though my tap water is only 90ppm total (alkalinity is a bitch)

Sorry for the hijak,
H

I've been using Canna nutes for a couple of years in a dtw system. The pH is solid as a rock, set it and forget it. My rez doesn't last a month though, only a week or two at the best. I split my tap with r/o to get a base ppm below a hundred, and nute up to about 800ppm. At that concentration pH adjustment is unnecessary as it hits 5.8 (+/-.1) every time and stays there.

Sometimes I use their rhizotonic in the early veg stages, and that can bump the pH up over 24-48 hrs., but set it back a couple times and it'll stay at 5.8. The addition of p/k at the onset of bloom needs to be adjusted at the time of mixing, but remains steady thereafter.

Canna has been so easy to use, and gives such consistent results, that I'd feel guilty using anything else.

yeah; it should b fine; keep outa the light... might benefit from an airstone in the res to keep things from sitting still.... recirculation is where u run into problems with coco

This thread makes me feel so much better as I am planning a canna coco drip to waste system as well.

I am planning on using 5 gallon buckets with netpot lids and coco chips in the netpots but either no medium at all or a few inches of coco in the very bottom of each bucket. The buckets will have a 1/4" for a reservoir to build up and then it will drain. I plan to put 2 330 degree sprayers in each bucket and feed probably 3 times when lights on and once over night, that might not be necessary though. Any input or obviously wrong things about my plan?

u might be making it more complicated than you need to be; look into bato buckets aka dutch pots... don't know about the whole air between mediums thing with only feeding 3x a day... the roots out of the netpot might get airpruned before they do anything without more spraying but it might work

I'm using Canna currently, the whole line. I use rhizo every feeding. pH is pretty stable, unless i add Sweet Raw.. then its all over the place.

i use the canna line but hand water . the label says the best time to use after mixing is 8 days so i think 30 would be pushing it.. the organic canna line is even less . they suggest 3 days after mixing ..

Its way more up front cost for bato buckets, trust me my design and building skills are fine.

I could easily spray them more than 3x per day. I could spray them every 30 minutes for maybe 20 seconds at a time or whatever would be the same amount of water over the 12 hour period. I'm glad you brought that up because I think I will need to feed them near constantly but lightly if you get my meaning.

i use canna coco a+b in a topfeed dtw system and the ph in the rez is stable!
using normal tap water at a starting ec of 0.2 and ph 7.5-7.8
(with hesi I had to check and correct the ph every other day)

i would not recommend using an airpump/airstone in the rez though. additional air will raise the ph over time. I'd suggest a normal circulating pump to keep the nutrient solution well mixed.

Circulation pump will raise ph just as much as any airpump, no difference in my reservoirs. I can fill a glass of tapwater and it's ph 8 80ppm, let the glass sit overnight and next morning ph is 9.1-9.5
