When seed making goes bad :(

Are you sure they aren't ovules...?

Im 100% certain they were seeds, I plucked as many out as I could find and they were all almost fully mature.

I hope this doesn't come out wrong... but "don't play with fire if you're scared of getting burned". I mean if this crop was so uber important (am I wrong to guess you are looking for a payout?) why in the world would you even fuck around with pollination? I'm sorry that happened to you, but I suppose it does happen when people try and control nature and do so in a sloppy fashion.

On a brighter note, your OG is looking pretty good!

I guess I got cocky, and greedy, I had alot of kick ass strains going this run aswell as some males. The thought of hitting my OG and blueberry with indica dom SSH pollen was just too much to resist. I had run pollination's like this before and never had any problems.

I spent HOURS plucking seeds and plucked about 250 seeds total from all the plants, one plant in particular had the most seeds. Luckily I got to them before the calyx's had swollen so the seeds were very easy to find, and my thought is the calyxs will swell around the empty seed pods and hopefully (fingers crossed) you wont be able to notice and I will be able to maintain the commercial quality.

Luckily I saved cuts of every plant in the room so all is not lost.

Last run I had one plant get semi seeded from a late flowering herm, that ruined quality even worse, because immature seeds that barely develop cannot be plucked out and they leave little hard spots in the buds and the buds dont burn good.

for me, it was impatience - i ended up in the same spot you are, for much the same reasons. i'd done it previously and things hadn't gone pear-shaped...and you end up not wanting to isolate that female as it's still a plant you want to get bud off of. you want it in your prime time 12/12 room

i've just gotten in the habit of only seeding cuts whose purpose is nothing but making seeds. it's made me more patient (as i don't end up seeding anything that hasn't been ran start to finish at least once, and i know if it is worth the effort) and it makes the process much smoother. you can just plunk that plant out of the room, spunk it up proper, leave it isolated for awhile, and thoroughly douse the sucker before it is re-introduced.
i usually leave them to their own devices in a mini-flower room on the same light schedule for a day, sometimes 2. you want pollen to make is way where it belongs before you waterblast it, after all.

another advantage: you don't have to care at all about the bud. that 11 week finishing strain as a mom...you can chop her down as soon as the seeds are done in week 7 or 8. and you can let these plants ride the margins in your room - they don't care, and since you aren't after bud on them...you won't either.

i know the 'just put some pollen on that branch' approach has it's advantages, and hell...i'll probably end up doing it again eventually. that said, a separate cut of that plant whose sole purpose is making babies just makes life a lot easier (both for you, and your garden)

We'll see, I left any pop corn buds that got seeded alone to collect after harvest. If I find like 50 or more maybe I'll send them into the bay for freebies. Might just be enough for a few 5 packs of each cross.

I like your method! I never really thought of that but it would have made a lot more sense to do it that way. Next time I will take a much more thought out approach to seed making. with a small cutting I could basically make a few hundred seeds under 26w cfl.

I`m liking that too, problem is all the guys I help out are always limited in space, money, etc. but slapping a small box in another room together is an amazing idea. Instead of just flowering the male under a small light: add a few more small lights, and you don`t have to worry about screwing up the small few plant grow that is of utmost importance :).
