captinkonts..I'm not trying to be a mean jerk, but you've posted 10-15 frantic questions, in the past couple weeks..please read the stickies..and remember k.i.s. and you'll be ok.

A tea brewed for 3 days is too long. 12-18-24 hours are the time-frames. You can keep things alive in a 72 hour old tea, but it will be the sharks of the microbe world.

After a certain point the bio film takes over the tea and can clog up your airstone real quick. As was mentioned, 4-5 days is overkill and unnecessary.

The smell can be described as earthy, and I know my teas are ready after the bad smell goes away (which is usually 24-48 hours depending on outside temps).

24 to 36 hours is the common time frame. Past that the tea will become anerobic if you don't keep feeding the microbes and diluting by taking a sizable quanity out and replacing it with water.....overall not a good idea. My teas smell like death if I let them go past that point and are basically useless indoors. The negative effects of using a tea in an indoor organic garden in plastic pots that has gone beyond it's "use by" date are not worth messing with.

right on. just curious cause it still smells good....

this thread has all the answer to your questions in the articles and links posted even before you ask them( you can ignore the chit chat a little).
