First time hydro grower, transplanting from EZ Cloner to Flood and Drain

I have 10 or so clones I would like to move from my EZ Cloner to my flood and drain table. These are going to be my very first hydro plants! I'm going to put them in 6" pots with hydroton. I'm worried that, even with their long roots, putting them in the pots without having a rockwool cube or other medium to preserve some water that these clones will die immediately. Right now they are set to be flooded 3x a day under 24 hours of light.

What do I need to for these, or for future clones, to keep them from dieing?

go straight to hydroton, no rockwool. Flood every 3-4 hours during lights on. Top feed the first couple days to make sure the plants are getting water. Keep lights high.

After a few days they will be established and good to go. Done it a 100 times, no issues

Thanks Marshall! I appreciate the info. I did some more reading and found that the two floods definitely weren't going to cut it at this stage. I'll change the timing. Thanks again.

I put clones straight into hydroton and don't even bother with pots. I flood for 15 minutes every 3 hours during lights on. I bury the clones deep enough in the hydroton so the roots zone is in contact with the nutrient solution during the flood.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to give that a try on one of my tables.
