Emailinf a Forum: thread/post/page

I have taken an intrest in delta9s thread 'passive plant killer'.

It is 50 pages or so and I'd like to have a copy, on my computer, with pics, if I can.

I tried to email the page (page 1) wiwth 'thread tools'and it comes back - I 'do not have permission to do this function'..

Do I need something more.. posts?? it doesn't work??

Anyone have the answer? Thanks..

It's been a while since I had to deal with vBulletin but when I did the 'email this thread' function of the thread tools did NOT mail a copy of the whole thread but only a link, just as if you mail a thread-link to someone.

As for downloading whole threads, there was (is?) an addon for vBulletin called Save to PDF which saves complete threads to pdf files. It needs server-side installation and is probably not wanted by admin because it usually causes a lot of extra traffic.

So then there is no way of getting the entire thread with pics
downloaded to my comp?

Oh well, I'll try the printable version and/or mabe a screen print and paste...

You can take hundreds of screen shots 1 at a time... "prtscn" button on the keyboard, then paste them into paint, size as needed, save as jpeg...

Yea, it's a lot of work... but easy

Heh, heh.. that's where I'm at...
copy and paste each page, one at a time from printable format and prt scrn the pertinant pics at the end.. for now...

It 'is' easy but time consuming.. that's a LARGE thread..

Btw there're addons for Firefox that save complete pages as images or pdf. Not exactly sure why you don't save pages simply as html via the 'Save As...' browser file menu function, though.

I thought I was looking at 40/page.. but now I have 25 pages done already at 23/page..
Same amount of posts...

Save as, either gives me text document or an internet link (html) to the thread...
Cuting and pasting the printable version preserves, post to post structure of the thread better..
and I do want the pics (select 'large' pics) pics via 'prtscrn'.

Dont know squat about firefox.. pdfs.. I dont have clue.

It's been explained to me.. I guess I dont 'want' to get it..
