When seed making goes bad :(

So I've got a few plants under a 600 and planned to make a few seeds on select branches on 2 plants out of the group.

I kept the male in another room in a cabinet and I did the pollination in a separate room from the other plants. I got in my closet yesterday to give my regular check of alll the plants and I see SEEDS. Some how every fucking plant got seeded. I dont even know how this happened, one OG kush plant had like 100 seeds on it. This is one of the most important crops I've ever had and I have all but ruined it.

I spent my night last night picking seeds out of buds, I hope this doesnt ruin the plants. Luckily the seeds were easy to find because the calyxs have not swollen yet, I think I got most of them.

I feel so stupid, has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone ever picked seeds from growing plants?

I don't understand the real problem unless it was supposed to be a commercial grow. Nobody wants flowers full of seeds, but the couple of times its happened to me, I just had to clean my buds before smoking for a few months. Not real convenient, but the plants potency or flavor won't be ruined, just commercial value for the most part, imo.

Nah, they were easy to pick out because the calyxs havent swollen yet, once they swell most of the seed probly would have been harder to find or they would be more to the center of the bud. It wasnt too bad getting them out, I used tweezers so I molested the buds as little as possible. I put in my most sincere effort to grow that weed, I like to put out the best product I can, this was a major bummer.

the male pollen is very light and can get blown all over the place, maybe you used much ore pollen then needed and it stayed on the leaves and buds, so when you put it back in the grow, the fans helped to spread the pollen. i normally take the finest brush or q tip i can find and gently touch the pollen and again gently touch the pistil hairs i want to pollinate. use sparingly. otherwise you have to spray your plants down after pollinating them. but i have to admit even being very careful i still find the odd seed here and there in other parts of the room. at this point i'd let the seeds get ripe and collect them when you harvest and as you smoke. you never know maybe you made a really nice cross.

After you pollinate girls, you should make sure to give them a good spray down with water before putting them back in the room. The water will ruin the pollen.

You put a pollinated plant, in with a bunch of others, and have fans blowing all over the place, some pollen is going to get moved around and find its way to the other ladies. It's nature trying to survive friend!! No worries, cause I've done it too...

If I ever bother making seeds again after this I'll have to spray them down with a water bottle.

I shouldn't beat yourself up to much, this time of year the air is thick with pollen from all the 'wild weed' and peoples OD grows, that pollen will travel long distances, it's a form of airborne pollution

I had an entire indoor crop seeded last year from somebody growing outdoors

The Asthma Association did a study and found high levels of cannabis pollen in the air in New York, can't find the article but it was an astonishing amount of pollen ...... think how much one big plant would put out if left to it's own devices

I dont think it affected the potency that much. Theyre at 42 days flower now, and it must have happened around week 3.

Mabey ya get lucky and missed a few and still get the chance to find out.How cool would that be.....turnin out da best smoke ya ever got was from a booboo that ya was kickin yourself in the ass for!

That sucks bro, it happens to everyone. Seedy bud sucks but hey, it is commercial, but now you know .

Hope it works out for you, Wash down your room before moving plants back in, hose it all down with some mold/mildew spray, maybe take a few konk/pyrethrin bombs into your room too after the wash.

I hope this doesn't come out wrong... but "don't play with fire if you're scared of getting burned". I mean if this crop was so uber important (am I wrong to guess you are looking for a payout?) why in the world would you even fuck around with pollination? I'm sorry that happened to you, but I suppose it does happen when people try and control nature and do so in a sloppy fashion.

On a brighter note, your OG is looking pretty good!

I am scared of something like this happening, being a breeder myself. Condolences on the seedy green but you really should have kept the seeds. They could have been useful. Plus, they are easy to get off the green when the bud is harvested.

Next time, spray with water. You will cut down the spread of pollen. When dealing with males, I find myself spraying water on seeded females and showering/changing at least twice a day just to make sure I don't bring in too much unwanted pollen. You'll always have a couple seeds, but the threat can be minimized.
