So I repotted my plant yesterday and there were these little worms at the bottom of the root ball I look around on the net and found out they are root maggots so my question is whats the best way of getting rid of these buggers , azamax , or parasitic nematodes . .:thank you:

11 looks no replys thats wierd :rasta: I was hoping someone had some knowledge of azamax with these things so I could use it for more than just a soil drench yes I did a search but have used neem before and it didnt relly help. I'll just have to order the parasitic nematodes. on a side note I found these worms in ffof soil you might have them and not even know it if your bottom leaves start to look burnt and you dont know why you may have them .

Are you sure you have root maggots and not fungus gnat larvae? I would go ahead and start watering with a BT product like the mosquito dunks as part of your regular regimen. What kind of adults are you seeing flying around? Flies or gnats? Make sure of what you have before you start hassling your roots with heavy artillery.

your roots will love the predator nematodes, you won't even know they are there.

nope there no flys flying around and none on the soil these are litte white worm looks just like a regular fly maggot walks just like fly maggot almost about a 1 inch long there are not very many yet I just saw a few K+ for the reply. :tiphat: oh yeah about six months ago I sprouted some seed and put them in ffof well one seed did not start and when I check the seed I saw a little white worm that was eating the seed again no fungus nats I know what they look like .

If I had larval anything I would try some BT strains. If it is a maggot it will eventually turn into a fly ,perhaps then you can fine tune it more. Azamax would help but it's hard to get a total kill in soil with drenches.

yeah they are gross I'm just glad there were not more so I did a neem drinch last night and I'm getting those nemetodes that way they will eat whatever is in the soil. I have new soil cooking with DE in it maybe that will help Thanks All

parasitic nematodes were used in soil the plants are throwing out new growth and look very perky like I said if you have symptoms of root rot leaves getting burnt from the bottom up you my have root maggots.

Does anyone have a picture? I have these little worms in my soil that are about 5-7MM's. I looked at them under 50 zoom and they are clearish white and I can see what looks like soil inside them.

thanks chronic. Not sure if I have nematodes or maggots but some beneficial nematodes should take care of either. Along with some DE when the lights come on tonight
