Flat veg. to vertical flower?

As soon as things cool down a bit more I am going bare bulb vert.

I have been running 2-3K over 2 4x4 E&F trays for awhile now but I want to pump up those yields. I am planning a 3K multi-strain stadium.

I will be running 4SD and Bog Bubblegum and maybe some Chemdog Kush.

With the 4SD I can put a cutting straight into flower and get a nice plant ~ 18"-25". The Bubblegum on the other hand barely stretches at all so they will need to be veged a little more.

I believe that I have read somewhere in this sub-forum that if you plan to flower vert. you need to veg vert. Is this true, is this the gospel?

I would like to veg the Bubblegum flat in some beer cups and then pot-up to smart pots and bring them into the stadium.

Is there a problem with this? I will not be veging them out into tall bushes, but only to something that will finish approximately the same height as the 4SD.

Its all possible. Try it out a few times and you will get better at making the most out of what you got!

That's what the guy does who does not ask for advice.

See I'm asking for advice so I don't have to experience too much of a learning curve.

How do you have so much karma and give me such a bad response???

That's like me telling you to shit on your plants and water them with beer. It's all possible....

If you want them tall, veg horizontal so they stretch more. I do both, most of veg is horizontal then a week in the vertical flower room to get them used to it.

far from having any absolutes in my head on this shit, as i'm kinda in the same place you are (just starting/playing w/ it) - but from what i've fiddled with so far, those slower vegging plants fill a role that ends up making life easier

veg horizontal and make the smaller plants the 'floor seats' in your arena, put the taller plants that made more of their vegging time in the next row out

my setup at present isn't an 'arena' or even a true vert (it's a clusterfuck, 8 buckets rdwc, 600w vert, 800w horizontal. yah. it made sense at the time.) but if it wasn't for that one plant w/ a much slower veg, i wouldn't even be able to get at the center of the setup

just sayin - you're looking at the slow veggers as a hindrance, or something to make allowances for - it could be what you want already.

having completely skipped past the point of your question, i'll try again (lol)

re: vegging horizontal to flower vertical...i don't think it matters sweet fuckall beyond a certain extent. if you have the option, put the girls in the flower room and run veg lighting for a couple of days - between that, and the stretch, they're going to grow into the setup whether they've always been oriented that way, or not.

I veg horizontal for my vertical rooms. Works great. Works even better if you can veg a few days once you go to vertical before you flip.

Vegging for vert depends on a few factors.

1-plant count and approx finish height.

2-setup...stadium/colisium/trees/vert scrog

3-strain some grow tall fast others bush out

for you stadium figure out you plant count and tier heights. too figure you veg. lots of girls and lots of shelves veg vert or flat will probable make no difference.

I usually veg horizontal then vertical for flower. this time I am giving 10 days of veg with a vertical bulb to get the plants to set up a little better. last time I had too many branches in the back. plus they stretched like a motha.

The whole growing scene is a learning curve... The ones that go by word of mouth instead of experience are the ones who LACK experience..

Ppl veg vert.. Horizontal.. Some with hps some with Mh.. You will never know what works best for you without having to "experience to much of a learning curve"

If you don't want to experience a learning curve , you have the wrong hobby.Trying to take the easy route by bypassing learning is just a route to a long unsuccessful journey until you gain the experience.

However, I like to veg vertically since it seems to make the side-branching grow in better. As soon as i see side branches start to pop up i run them under a vertical CMH...
