If u do not have room for both I highly recommend using the hps. What wattage u thinking? When I had small grow, I used a closet with floro for small veg and two 600hps for rest of veg and flower. Worked rather well for me...a bit of advice tho, if using hps to veg, keep lights as close to plants as possible without burning them :yoinks: ...this will help with them stretching...keep them fat and round. :tiphat:

my hps is 150w ,

but i can put 4 6500k 26w cfl`s in their ,

will the 150w hps put out more light lumens then the 4 cfl`s ?

their 26w so thats 100w equivalence each ..

4 x 26w CFLs = 6400 lumens
150w HPS = 16000 lumens

The cfls are much more cool than the HPS, so you may need to add additional cooling or ducting for the HPS where as the CFL will stay pretty cool. I would use CFLs unless the heat is not an issue.

CFL's are excellent for Veg imo..When I set up my 1000W system I will use only the blue 6500 cfl's in the veg space..this is a 100 watter

CFL or MH or CMH for veg. Make your decision based on the plant's needs in various stages of growth. In veg your plants will benefit more from blue light (ie 6500K color temp) if you have to choose between blue/red otherwise go with full spectrum fluorescents.

ive a blue spectrum clf and i use it because it keeps my plants short in veg then i switch to hps in flower depending on how much sativa is in the plant

CFL's.. less worry about the heat. Cost savings. From clone to veg. . It's just a house plant. It will grow great, if you can keep the CFL's close. Sometimes more isn't better.

Peace!
