so riddle me this, I have been pondering this for a long time. Which unit will run when the outside temps are freezeing your ball hairs off, 0-30F

Honestly nothing will work like an excel air stealth uinit. these things are beasts, they are meant for sealed grow rooms. They are plug and play sealed lines. Nothing comes close to these things trust me.http://www.excelair.ca/
5 ton unit can run 15 1000k watt bulbs no air cooling

The excels are nice but they cost twice as much as a unit just because you can hook them up yourself.

The friederich mini split are supposed to be able to run when its freezing balls, never ran that brand myself though.

ramsond.com you dont need to vac the lines out with this unit and they run great. It has a blow out valve to clear the lines like a tire. They have great tech support and they ship fast. AND NO I DONT WORK FOR THEM OR ADVANCED NUTRIENTS EITHER LOL

wow those blow out valves are called schrader valves, you use that to PULL VACCUUM on a system or charge/recover refrigerant. All a/cs use a hermetically sealed compressor, and you must vaccuum down any r22 or r410 system to at least 500 microns when the compressor, system, or lineset is open to the atmosphere. If you are running your own lineset and brazing and using flared ends, you MUST vac down your lines to remove the atmosphere in the lines, this can take anywhere from 1-12 hours varying on systems size and amount of moisture in the lines. Unless you dont care about your refrigerant cooling your air, or your compressor working, don't listen to me.

only talk about what you know

www.heatexchanger.ca cheaper than excel air and been in the game longer

york affinity units are sick too. i run a split a/c from exel. same thing.

you can buy quick connect pre charged lines now. so you don't even have to vacuum the line or anything.

acwholesalers or goductless. They are sister companies so one of them will always have what you need in stock, as well as parts if you should ever need them.

how much noise do the compressors make? I have neighbors very close and it might seem strange to have the A/C compressor running when its cold outside.

My Mr.Slim, the compressor makes ZERO noise! The only way to tell it's on is to see if the fan is on. Not even a low hum, ZERO noise!
But I've had cheaper units (Amcor to be exact) that sounded like a diesel engine whenever the inverter ramped up/down.
While expensive, stick with name brand units. And I don't mean a generic brand that has a brand name compressor. (Most all generic brands have either Toshiba, Panasonic or Hitachi compressors, some even have Sanyo compressors).
Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Lg, Friedrich, Sanyo, Daikon- the only brands I would ever consider buying:tiphat:
