Speaking to a couple folks in chat several nights ago, prompted me to git this out to y'all. This is, from what I understand, tha original chocolate chip cookie from a Massachusetts housewife, in 1929! Make 'em with canna butter er just regular, these are tha best fuggin' cookies you'll ever experience......

Compliments to tha original housewife as well as to my own, fer discovering this recipe....

1/4 lb. butter 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 egg 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/8 cups flour

Preheat oven to 375 and grease cookie sheets. cream tha butter, then add the 2 sugars gradually. Beat till light and smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix flour, salt and baking soda together and add to first mixture, blending well. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Dropping by teaspoons on greased cookie sheets, bout 1 inch apart, bake for 8-10 mins or till lightly browned.

Keep close eye, using brown sugar, things are quick to burn. I would also recommend cooling on pie racks..... These cookies come out almost see through, crispy, chewy and perfect! Let us know how you liked 'em.

Stay healthy an' grow HARD,
Enjoy,
Steele

Only way to go with chocolate chip cookies is tollhouse recipe on the chocolate chips bag, milk chocolate. I don't have it handy but I think the recipe is real similar if not the same as yours. I think the weed flavor ads something to em, only problem is stopping at just one.

Careful...the egg and the chocolate are on the same line in this recipe...these are great cookies i recommend baking them on a sil-pat (silicone mat). Also great if you use shredded coconut instead of nuts. Thanks Steele Savage!!! The world can never have enough cookies.

The only thing I can add is we bake them in winter, cooling the cookie pans outside the kitchen door between cycles. Cool cookie pans work best because they keep the batter firm until you pop them in the oven!

would you maybe suggest cooking at lower temp for a longer time, maybe around 15 mins on 300 f ?
By almost see through, do you just mean really thin ?

I've been looking for a good chocolate chip recipe.

Thanks

I use the recipe on the back of "Gold Metal Flour" bag except I don't use nuts because they become too expensive, but everyone who eats my cookies say they are some of the best they ever had. the trick is getting the perfect cooking time. every oven is different, but one minute to the next makes a big difference. I haven't made them with canna butter yet though. I saw a video online how to make it so I made some over night and it looks killer so far. I made a lot. I didn't do it by using water though. I melted 8 cups of butter in a slow cooker and threw in over a half ounce of purple diesel popcorn buds and a crap load of chopped up trim. i filled the cooker till it was like a thick soup. Put the lid on and let it sit for 12 hours. strained it all out and got 7 1/2 cups of primo almost black canna butter. as soon as it solidifies in the fridge, I'm making some cookies :canabis:

so I made some cookies. I used half recipe so I could test it out. 1/2cup butter recipe made 12 decent size cookies. My wife couldn't wait for the cookies so she made a piece of toast and spread a little butter on it and ate it. the taste is pretty potent. I can understand why some people can't stomach the taste. When the cookies were done, she was waiting by the rack for them to cool down, lol. When she got one, she said they tasted soooo good. I tasted a little nibble of hers and felt it was still kinda potent, but a million times better than the butter on the toast. so now, about an hour later, she's feeling pretty dang good. she says she feels limp and loaded, lol. I guess that was some good butter and cookies. I'll give a couple cookies to friends and get their opinions.
