$262 seems expensive for what you're getting on that light kit. HTG Supply's ballasts run way too hot. Go with a digital ballast instead. Their timers also suck. I wouldn't trust them in flowering.. thankfully mine died while the plants were in veg.

For $280 you can get a 600w digital ballast with HPS+MH bulbs, yoyos and a timer shipped on Ebay.

Is the EasyCool reflector 6" or 4"? Make sure you know before choosing a fan. With 400w I would go with a 6" reflector and ducting.. can be re-used if (when) you upgrade to a 600w.

Would the 12 site Ebb/Grow fit in a DR80?

Does an Ebb/Grow 12 site really cost that much? I'm in the wrong fucking business!

Those are from HTG supply I was just looking to put together a group of products to get. So Ebay would be a better choice for lights. I don't know whether the Ebb/Grow would fit or not? What other cheaper hydroponic system would be good for DR80?

thanks, looking at it I dont think the ebb and grow is the best way. I doubt it even will fit lol. Whats everyone think about the ebb and flow trays? I think one of them would fit in the DR80.

I buy alot of things off of Ebay.I get alot of my grow stuff there too.Just make sure you check feedback before you bid or purchase anything.

What made you decide to go hydroponic?

Good luck with your first grow.I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I started out with a book by Rosenthal I think. Closet growing. I bought a Turbogarden right away, later I discovered OG and then this forum. At first I knew zero but I got a smokable product. I learned so much so fast it was like college only cooler. You will never be disappointed unless you expect miracles.

What strain(s)? A lot of the things you wrote sound like a waste of money. For instance the reflector(grow vertically), the ebb grow kit (DIY save a few hundred $), hangers(you won't need to reposition the light because its vertical), the fan (stanley blower fan, $45), the light (find a ballast, a capacitor, and a fixture, and lamp for $70-125 on ebay). What's your water quality like? Do you have any meters?

Budget is not that much of an issue.( I would like to spend anywhere from 1200-1800 on the initial investment) Basically I want to figure out the best set up I can for a hydro DR80 or DR100. Thanks for any input.

What is a quality site to buy lights/hydroponic units/ other essentials?
