I just recently ordered one from here
You can google for coupon codes for that site, I think it was $10 off, not sure if it's still available, though.

Its not the same one he's talking about. They have a new series which is supposed to be more durable and more quiet due to an air baffle. If they made these fans any quieter i'd have to buy another one....

Those look nice. I couldn't find anything for them in the US either. It looks like they are in the test market phase in Europe. I guess if they sell over there they might ship a container over here.

Took about 1 minute for me to find their US distributor...

Thanks for the post, Joe. Might have to look into getting a couple of these myself.

Thanks, but that just provides a link to their USA website, which does not have the new TD-SILENT models anywhere on it...unless I'm blind. Your link does have the e-mail address for their US sales, so I'll give them a buzz. If they get back to me I'll post their reply here. :joint:

If I can't get the new TD-SILENT model, then I'm probably getting the TD-100x. It seems no one has anything bad to say about them. Stealth growers are particularly happy with the noise level of these things. If the new and improved version is just a little bit quieter, then I will gladly pay more for extra peace of mind, even if I'm the first board member to try it. Their track record is excellent so these must be great, too.

Just because it isn't on the site, doesn't mean they can't get it. Might be too new a product and the site hasn't been updated yet. That link also shows the physical address (FL) of the distributor which might help.

I found this UK company selling the TD250SILENT (105cfm low, 141cfm high) for an estimated $185 USD after shipping to the States. Considering I paid almost that much for my old 4" Elicent fan it's not outrageous, but it is double the price of the TD-100x from HVACQuick.

This will be a tough decision even if I can find a US distributor. At 23"x10" the TD250SILENT is more than twice as long and almost twice as fat as the TD-100x, which is only about 9"x6". However, if the noise level improvement is great enough it may eliminate the need for an added muffler outside my box (+1 for extra stealth). Based on my current plans that would put my carbon scrubber about a foot below the canopy instead of right next to it. Would this be a problem?

To all electricians: One thing I hadn't considered until now is wiring these new models. If they are only being distributed in Europe right now does that mean they only run on 240V? Would I even be able to wire it in the States?

S&P confirmed that these will not be available in the US until 2011, and I read somewhere that electrical equipment developed for countries with 240V is incompatible with US 120V.

Are there any bilingual folks out there? Could you do us a favor and look/ask around in some of the European forums to see if anyone has tried one of the TD-SILENT fans yet? I tried a few language-independent search terms but found nothing. It would be nice to know if S&P's claims about significantly reduced noise levels are true.

guys you can order from a usa site here: hvacquick.com

I only use S&P fans because they are oversized for the cfm and thus very silent. I use a TD200x 8" 419cfm on low (509 on high) to cool a 1000w and vent a 5x5x6.5 tent and a td-100x 101cfm on low (131 high) to vent a 2x3x4 tent with about 425watts of T5. they are super quiet because they offer les cfm for the duct size. great fans!

Here is a great/huge thread all about S&P fan when we was just hearing about em:
Great Inline Fans
