I think unless someone is making specific physical threats to another member or really crossing that "holy shit this is getting bad" line then it should just be allowed to ride. Even if it is with a breeder who decides to get into a pissing match with you or troll your threads because once you step into the ring there should be no calling a foul when the other guys swings back. But that is exactly what happens if you start "winning" it seems. Alot can be learned from the various exchanges though between members who disagree sometimes you can learn the most accurate and honest information as a result of it all. If everyone agreed all the time this site would suck and posting would nearly stop.

right on. If there is not a fairly serious violation of the TOU (which is as it is for good reason), then using the report post function is an abuse of the function, and in itself a TOU violation.

The best thing to do, if you feel overly inspired to report a post, is to review the TOU and make sure you have a damn good reason, and then think twice about it before clicking.

Site ownership wants you to report TOU violations.
Site ownership does not want to know about your personal petty squabbles.

Sorry JJ, but I do agree that if you're over worked, then either hire new mods to help out, resign as a mod, or start to ban trolls rather than just close any threads they decide arent supporting their personal opinions but which they are unable to provide a logical arguement against. Its so easy for a troll to turn a thread they dissagree with into a night mare for mods and the thread starter. I've seen forums that were popular dissappearing, and the active topics are now all back to the early days of kids asking can I grow with this bulb, if I were to name a strain, if I was to make a cross of 2 strains which 2 would you suggest, will my plants hermie, what will my yield be if i grow with these xmas tree lights etc. ok I havent seen the last one but you get my drift. During its hay day this site was massively popular, and that popularity helped to bring people into the sales sites of the site owner. If people start to drift away from the forum to other forums, then that will without doubt start to hit seed sales. In order to support this site, we need growers to want to spend their online time on this forum rather than others, and that means that the mods here need to put the time in to keep control of the trolls and support the growers. I do realise that at times this task will seem overwhelming, and is mostly a thankless task without any form of reward, either financial or social. And I do feel sympathy for you on that matter, and yes we all come to the end of our tether from time to time, but to punnish those who try their best to contribute to the site because some kid decides to start trolling them, isnt really fair, and I'm sure that upon reflection you'd agree with that.

The whole thing is really a double edged sword because if you do not reply back then most everyone reading it takes the insults hurled at you as fact and for face value or they think you cannot justly defend them so it must be true.

Dude, why would you even care so much about what a bunch of 15 yr olds on a weed website think?
