This warning seems to be "if you want a thread closed, then troll it, and if you don't want the thread closed, you'd better not report trolling."
We have enough mods....we aren't complaining about being over worked per say, but modding things we really shouldn't have to....
Take it however you want Head, just don't ask us to moderate silly arguments or hurt feelings because of petty disagreements over things not related to marijuana or growing...that's all....that was to everyone...

Though I would mention...
That that actually used to happen cause first the men would bath then the sons, then the women and then daughters and last babies. Soooo, the bath water was that dirty you could lose a baby in it...
Personally I found myself a cleaner bath, and a smaller family...
JJ no offense man but this was the dumbest thread i have ever read by a mod and it makes you seem cruel insensitive and well not really cut out to be a mod. You dont like the pms.. get a new hobby. It seems you could take a bit of your own advice as to the whining. Sorry but thats how i see it... I love the mods on here andf this just makes it look terrible... and with back-up. The classic back up, too. Kinda petty, next thing we know we shall be taunting our modding degrees and telling people they need to speak when spoken too... Come on
This thread gets a heads on LAME

all it takes is any one asshole and any one complainer(who can even be in cahoots)... they don't care who started the thread or what the thread was about.

I understand how the report button is easily abused and turns into just another tool in the troll's toolbox. And this unfortunately takes away from legitimate reports of abuse.
Why not leave the report button as it is, but send the reports to the email address of the reporter and not to Mods. The trolls can then report all day long and derive pleasure from seeing the reports come in. But then you'd have a real report button hidden somewhere on the site where only a few know about it. Or, just tell people to email abuse [at] icmag.com with legitimate requests--that might be enough to deter the mere troll while giving legitimate reports a chance.

This wouldn't be in the interest of Gypsy or anyone in the community. People come to IC mag because of the great wealth of information about cannabis that its members have, but also to pick those members brains on other random topics in the life of herb lovers. IC is superior to all other sites (imho) because of the quality of posts on all things cannabis, and I think between Mods enforcing the TOU and members being responsible, this can be worked out without drastic measures. Its not a good solution to simply remove the Den..
Well being the controversial type I found myself reporting bullshit lately even though I did not really want to in lieu of telling someone off or getting into a pissing match because I was told to just report it instead of fight back or go off-topic in a thread. The whole thing is really a double edged sword because if you do not reply back then most everyone reading it takes the insults hurled at you as fact and for face value or they think you cannot justly defend them so it must be true. BUT if you do put someone in their place then you get reported or have two more people jump in to defend them and it all breaks into a shit slinging festival amongst factions. I just recently started giving neg rep to people who started shit and that got reported so I got a nice little friendly (not) PM telling me NOT to negative rep certain members because they are special, ect. Even after they neg repped me to begin with! What kind of shit is that?
Threads that have too much drama should just get moved into a no-holds barred section for people to duke it out that does not show up at the top of the forum new post list and then it won't distract others and people can just discuss it as they see fit amongst themselves and if other people really are interested they can go back and visit the thread as they see fit. By continued posting in that thread in that "Drama Forum" everyone would know that you can't report shit and you basically post there at risk to your own ego or rep. Then everyone can stop with the stupid crybaby shit and tattle-tale reporting. It's always the other guys fault anyways! Sweet Tooth rules all FTW!

Ive reported posts..when I see a new person who has a post count of like 3 or something and ive read three of their posts that were being rude and starting arguments.I have hit the button and write "Rude" in it.Thought that was what we were supposed to do.I havent did it very often or very recently.
Can I suggest that a part of the site be for members and only members that are what we would call regulars..maybe even use that pesky rep system to seperate the people who are only gonna be here long enough just to get their arguments in from members that contribute and try to get along ? I think it might help with the modding problems.
