I would say it's more dreamy than sleepy, but very potent, and very pleasurable too. I'm not too keen on narcotic strains, and it's well within my levels of acceptability. A friend has this one in hydro, and it has a solid bud two feet long and seven inches diameter...

I've just tested two of the four Appalachia X JLo and they're very, very tasty indeed - outrageously fruity flavours in the peach/apricot zone, with one a bit more Flo-like, and more subtle. The third is hanging, and the fourth will be chopped tomorrow, so all done within 8-9 weeks in organic soil - only 5" pots, so not huge plants, but the yields are around 18-19g of bud, so I'm more than happy at that size - the last one should be the largest, I reckon.

I've got a very freaky lady on my hands, well, I think it's a lady, I'm sure I see a pistil of two, but hard to tell. It's a Purpurea Ticinensis, the strain that looks a lot like Flo. This freaky lady looks like the kind of freaks Oregon Purple Thai produces, so it's another big clue that Flo and PT are related. Breeder Steve worked a lot with DJ and definitely had Blueberry, Flo and other DJ plants growing during his time in Switzerland and he was neighbours with Felix who made the PT. Felix always said he found it growing as an ornamental in an old lady's garden, but the plants are suspiciously like Flo. I'll try to get a pic but I'm stuck to using a phone cam at the mo. I've got two other freaky mutants, one is an old bagseed from the 90s, could be anything, the other is a Colombian Gold and that one is a superfreak, just as freaky as the OPT looking PT.

Anyways, just thought I'd mention it as I know OPT and Flo is Eman's cuppa char.

18-19g per plant is good, I aim for 20g a plant with 10 plants under a 400 in my small box setup.

i can never make organics work very well with small pots - it's a bit wasteful on soil perhaps but i like 4 plants in 4 gallon pots under my 250, i get between 2 and 3.5 oz from each. if they never get potbound i find they never have problems.

A gallon is about the bare minimum for soil, one reason I hate soil indoors. If you went to a 400 instead of your 250 I'd suggest going for 2 gallons, minimum, I did a run recently with 8 plants under a 400 in 2 gallon pots and the yield was only 150g, it was damn good bud, but the yield really pissed me off, in the same setup using 1 gallon pots of coco I can fit in more plants and get more per plant, I usually get at least 300g with 10-12 plants using coco and with less veg time that the soil run took, all in all, coco just craps all over soil for performance and if done right, you don't lose anything in quality either. That Black Forest looks nice and pretty chunky too. BTW, how did the DC SCROG go in the end? I'm running a bunch of Chunks from seed now and I can't imagine SCROGing them as they are so stocky and don't branch. Do you recycle your soil? It gets better with age as it breaks down into humates.

yeah i veg for quite a while but it's no hardship for me as i have a veg cabinet. never been able to veg them into the final pots though as it's not big enough. PowerBlack had 2 phenos this time, the pic was the more powerplant dom one. the other was much more sativa. f2's should be interesting and i may bx a powerplant type one to the powerplant mum as a side project.

the DC scrog went great, but it would only be possible from clone i think (and only barely possible even then)

got 6 original haze seedlings (seedsman) a few days old so that's the next challenge...

and lucky me just recieved some of mr Greengenes' Cherry Bomb seeds which im excited about looking at soon...

Yeah, you can see the PP in that one, looks similar to a PP I have, not the greatest smoke in the world but so easy to grow and clone and yields huge so I keep it around.

DC looks nice, how long did you have to veg it?

I have the same problem with my veg spaces being too small to veg plants nice and big, but I don't need to veg em that big as I crowd in a load of smaller plants, minimum of 10 in a run, but more often I do 15-18 as I like to have a bit of variety, I do monocrops in my larger space cos I run hydro in there.

Good luck with the Seedsman Haze, I've run through half a dozen packs of that and never found a keeper. Males are in the minority and every male I had was tall, lanky and lacked branching, I never saw a male that had any visible trichomes and I was removing balls to examine under the scope. You will see a furry appearance to the sems on some plants, especially the females, but it isn't trichomes, it's cystolith hairs, and I saw no correlation between the hairiest ones and the best ones. To be honest, I dunno what to suggest to look for with that Haze as I never found anything great.

VerdantGreen I`ve red your DC thread ( and your other ones too ) and I`m thinking how it would go with some Defoliating.

DC is famous with its tops and his huge leaves, so what if its get toped/lst/scrog and then defoliated for better light penetration.
I have red that DC shouldn`t be topped but this would be an interesting experiment I think.
I have some DC beans but I`m keeping them for next year outdoor.

hey gov i did take quite a few leaves off the DC scrog. i vegged it for ages and then bent it at a right angle and stuck it under the screen. 6 weeks at least maybe 8.

wow they do look pretty freaky! ive had leaves like that when plants were very young but they tended to grow out of it.

about the cherry bomb - reeferman got his cherry bomb from mr greengenes or used in a cross to make his cheery bomb apparently. Mr G's was the original - from maui wowie bagseeds and taken to f20something.

about the DC - i found out what makes the leaves drop - as soon as the roots hit the sides and bottom of the pot it drops leaves like confetti. repot early and regularly.

funky didnt you get very poor germination from the seedsman haze as well? how many females did you actually get to finish??

Yes just took those 10 mins ago. Its a cross of Growdocs Angel Dust with some seeds that were sent to me. UBC Chemo x Kromes Blockhead. Not sure about that though. Some look like mad indicas whilst some are total sativa. There all massive yielders though.
