So a few years ago i was told to wait on the digital ballasts because they are not right yet... have we got to the point where digitals are far superior to mag ballasts?

If so what are the ones recommended i know nothing about digital ballasts.. thanks for any info.

my lumatek works great with this so called recall why dont we hear more peaple bitchin bout em!!sorry if that sounded rude! i am gonna buy another ballest this week so i would like to know the low down on this comparison my self. i am very budget minded but the dimmable factor is huge also so i am torn!!

ask yourself a question

Not yet .osram .phillips,sylvania.just now have nothing above 150 w digital.
Ok so some people have digis that work .but under extreme conditions there will be probs eventually .
I bought the best possible magnetic money can buy from "Bag electronics gmbh" runs both osram 1000w 7.2 k mh and 1000w Hps with just a change of one capacitor.
A new thai company "Hi-Tech" that biulds ballasts and factors lamps have matched a lamp and ballast i have one set on test .
Am impressed its better by 20% than the osram .
but again it doesnt run Hps as well.
so it depends on circumstance .
If we can cut the grow shop wankers out of it it would help for sure bullshit and extreme profiteering doesnt help.A

I fail to see the need for a digital ballast to overdrive a bulb...with 20,000 Hz?...every electronic device in the U.S. runs at 60 Hz....as do UL rated mag ballasts.

When we have 20,000 Hz bulbs?...then things can improve?...1000 watt ballasts putting out 1100 watts of light...is that what digital ballasts are trying to do?

Seems to me...the ballast people and bulb people are on separate pages?

I've been using my Galaxy 400 & 600 watt ballasts for years now without any problems. They also have no problem with any bulb I've put in as well.

I have yet to see any reason to change from mags, dependable and cheap works for me.

I measure 10% more lumens on my Quantums than I got out of my SS ballasts. Dimmable is so handy, I drop my brightness up to 50% on hot days or if I'm working in the room for an extended time. 16 Quantums, 0 failures! ;)
