Looking for info to install solar panels min 2,000 watts up to 5,000 watts. Any body have any experience and/or advice? My credit is bad so I cannot qualify for financing of panels. Also I don't think I have enough roof space facing south. maybe I can put panels on the roof & have a stand alone in the back yard?

i work for a renewable energy company, for 5k watts you would need several large solar panel arias, you can either post mount them or roof mount. to do this you would need at least two large deep cycle batteries, a large 5k+ inverted to convert the 12vdc to 120ac. you can get a standard 200 Watt solar panel for around 900 ( depending on location) if you wire them in series you can add them together to get the wattage numbers you want.
so having three 260Watt panels wired in series would give you 780 watts.

I've looked into this for my house, for a 5KW array its pretty pricey, your probly looking at 10-$15,000 for materials and installion. It would take many years you recoup your investment. the technology and price really arent on the same playing field just yet, as they refine the process and are able to produce panels more cheaply you'll see a drop in cost just like anything else. You might want to look into rebate programs from you local power company, also if you can generate more than you use you can sell it back to the power company.

unfortunately, the expense coupled w/ the output is VERY pricey!! BUT good weed is very costly/profitable.
i would spend a 1/3rd of that money and install a clear panel roof over your grow room w/a darkening/shade system to promote flowering, the roof panels can be slightly opaque to keep spying eyes at bay.
besides if u install this solar system AND divert all ur stored energy for your grow whats leftover for the rest of ur home???? some may say its seems ODD that u installed all that gear and your power bill does not drop much ??
by all means if u have the means to do it,... DO IT! just have your plan(s) address the BIG picture besides ur grow.
check your local codes too.......some asshole authorities actually treat solar panel installs as unsightly and regulate/prohibit installs viewable by the public
panels r far more affordable when u purchase them by the PALLET!!!
also the deep cycle batteries u choose should be QUALITY as the cheap ones will need replacement much more often (spend ur money here!!!)
