gram per watt... have you done it? how???

Hello everybody I haven't reach that yield but I'm trying and I would like to ask to those who are getting a gram per watt or more...

How do you accomplish this?
What kind of set up do you have?
What is the total wattage?
How many plants?
Do you train? what kind of train?
How long do you veg?
Overall conditions (humidity, temp, co2, etc...)

I would appreciate comments on what you do to see what I'm missing or what can be improved

my set up is a 4' x 8' tray,
flood and drain,
1k watts,
50 plants total
I use a SCROG,
veg for 3 weeks,
RH 55%,
76˚-78˚,
Co2 during flower at 1300 ppm
average yield for last 3 crops 700 grams

This time I've been thinking on having more plants like 60 - 70, veg them longer 1 - 2 weeks (more)and seriously been thinking about defoliating them and raising the Co2 to 1500 ppm

what do you think?

Thank you for your time and patience

You need to add another 1k to that setup.

1000 watts over a 4x8 table just aint gonna cut it unless you dont mind fluffy buds on the outside plants.

def need 1k more for the 4x8 uppin co2 may help but not 300gs. i grow trees dwc so im no expert on tables but i think if u put the light over 4x4 and packem in with the right strain co2 u would do better. or veg monsters and 2-4 per 1k.

I'm with the other comments. 1000W is good for a 4x4-16 sq/ft area. With 32 sq/ft in a 4x8 I would put another 1000W lamp in it if you can.

Thank for all the comments I've been thinking on using a moving rail instead of another light to save on electricity, what do you think?

you would be better off with another 1000w.

To answer your question, though, you probably could get 1 GPW off 1 kw and that table. Maybe with a mover. That would be just a tad over 2 pounds right?

But you could probably pull close to 4 pounds if you added another light

This is all strain, grower, nute, etc dependent, but you get the point.

I would not be so focused on the 1 GPW but maximize the use of that table and adding aother 1KW would be the best bang for the buck. Much better than a mover IMO. Remember you need lots of light for that CO2 to work

lightmover.
cheaper, easier, less a/c.

edit-gram per watt is usualy obtained [by me] when doing large plants, trimming the top leafs, and most importantly, letting them A) get healthy, B) dont fuck-em-up C) no def/ burn D) proper atmosphere(probably most important) you know temps, ph, rh, rootzone temp. oh and yea, you need every bit of a 4x4 space filled to the brim for each 2Lb.

GPW is just one way to keep score, it don't mean shit.

that too...
i wonder how much "fluff" is thrown in the bag onto the scale just to get that claim.

usualy i break the grow down into costs (rent, plant food, elec) and devide by grams harvested. having a 2-3$/gram cost is better then a 5-6$/gram cost.

no way you are even going to come close to 1g/watt - even if you veg for several months on ends. If you get to .5g/watt consider yourself lucky.

you need like 2 more lights in that area to even get that close. you'll also need to go vertical. and you can't fuck up and get some c02 in there.

i'd say if you cant get 1gpw with scrog you should change your genetics or fill the screen better. but i agree that 2 lights would be more suitable for 4x8'

6 x plants veg for 4 wks in an atami wilma,
straight coco,
fed canna A + B throughout there entire cycle,
with pk13/14 at wk 5.
on day 55 off a 70 day strain i removed all fan leafs,
and from day 60 plain water until the end,
400w MH lamp for the first 6wks
400w sodium for the rest.

never get less than 20oz but had just under 25oz in the cooler months.

skunk no 1
k-train
pot of gold
have all yielded over 3 1/2 oz a plant with no real hassles.

i use the canna medium feed schedule.
temp 70d to 79d
rh 40 to 70% in veg
35 to 60 % in flower
ph between 5.5 and 6.2
if they get to tall i tie them down, and thats it.
