I know this is not a big deal to those in med. states, but I'm nowhere near a medical state. Sooooooooooo..... when I can score quality cuts it's kind of a big deal. I am well aware of how amazingly frosty she gets, and the quality of her trim, but how well does she yield? How many weeks should I flower her? Should I cross her with a stable, high yielder like my AK-47? Any info./feedback is greatly appreciated!:good:

EDIT: I may have been wrong. I thought Deep Chunk and Monkey Balls was the same strain. My cut is labeled Monkey Balls #16??????????

From what I read Monkey Balls and Deep Chunk are the same thing. It's supposed to be a slow vegger and poor yielder. But I imagine there is more than 1 pheno. It should make awesome parental stock!

All Deep Chunk i have grown is finished under 60 days and all have been low yielders with a range of different flavors some can be very bland with no taste but others can be extremely hashy/resinous with very unique flavors it truly takes a rare understanding to appreciate all the qualities of this wonderful strain,,I have found it is best when out crossed to sativa dom strains,,, I am yet to cross it to another landrace sativa (The perfect combination in my opinion) but i have used it in a couple of other crosses with much success...

Jack Herer x Deep Chunk...

Chemchunk...(Rez's ChemDD/Sensistar x DeepChunk)

Thanks for the replies! When I got her home yesterday, I transplanted her from soil to hydro, and she's suffering from a little transplant shock.... she's been drooping but not wilting, so I'm pretty optimistic that she'll be fine. I'm gonna flower her and see how she turns out. Furthermore, I'm popping some NYCD x Cotton Candy, and some Powerplant x White Widow seeds.... maybe I'll find a worthy father for her in the bunch.

The cutting rebounded from transplant shock...vegging slowly. Since this is a cutting taken from a mother somewhere in the Mendo/Trinity area (that's all the info. I have), I'm hoping this will be one of the better DC pheno's. A buddy also gave me some Jack Herer, and some SSH beans, in the hopes of finding an appropriate father for breeding her. It seems obvious that you would want to cross her with a top notch sativa. The NYCD x Cotton Candy, and the Power Plant x WW beans that I'm already germinating didn't seem like the answer....with a polyhybrid like that.....almost seems like it would create more diversity than I wanna dig through in order to find my "Supermom!" (lol!).

I scored some DC a few years back, when it was harder to get. It's a nice strain to have in the collection for sure. Being a pure excotic Afghan variety and very true breeding it makes for perfect for making hybrids. Although low yield and slow growth are the weakness the resin production and overall uniqueness makes up for it. I've grow DC out a few time mainly to make seeds and some hybrids. I made a shit load of DC hybrids with pollen I collected. I can say that DC is my collection for good. Not to mention it's a pure hash plant and produced some nice bubble hash.

does anyone know or think that our kush hybrids like bubba came from her? she seems like a kush plant. Is she 100% landrace afghani? How long has she been around? clone only? thanks peace

bubbakush & deepchunk look very simular me thinks atleast the bud structure .... ive always wondered if bubba has deepchunk in it they both get the rock hard nugs,smell/taste like coffee & have a fairly low yield too i believe deepchunk is a landrace IBL pure 100% indica.you can get the seeds through the boo or bay the breeder is tom hill.
