trying out hydro fungicide for prevention and killing of root rot. im pretty sure that i dont have it, but i do have some brownish roots in my mpb system and my ph is slightly dropping, may be on the verge of getting the root rot.....

i just received my order for hydro fungicide from groovyhydro. not only did they give me free 2 day shipping upgrade, they threw in a couple bottles of physan20 for free! great place and nice people.....

i am going to run this product the entire time im growing in the mpb system, eliminating the bleach that i was using......

results will be posted soon.....

I think I may be getting root rot. I'm growing in a DWC and just recently started using frozen water bottles to try to keep my temps down. I'm just hoping that it's discoloration from the nutes I'm using.

I've had great results threating early stages of root rot with h202, physan 20 is not something i would advice using in the res tho, not that krunch implied that.

Are you running house and garden algen or their roots excel. I notice a little brown blobs around the top of my roots where the waterline is in my MPB's. I was about to run treatment for it but upon futher inspection I realized it was just some floaties or what I assume was the algen and roots excel that would stick to the roots around the waterline when I lift the lids for inspections... kinda hard to explain in words but you know what I mean.

I just set up a 14 site mpb grow and posted some pics up today... check it out.

Oh yeah, I also am planning to run hydro-sparkle. Heard many good things about it over at the farm. For canadian members homegrown hydroponics sells it.

I recently caught root rot (again) and the frozen bottles only slow down the inevitable. I had 9 2-gallon bottles I would rotate in and out. Didn't work. I should of listen and bought the chiller like everyone told me. Now I have the chiller (way overpower at that) and will start my next run after I disinfect everything and my indoor soil run is done. BUT as a experiemnt I kept the best looking root rotted lady, put her in a single DWC bucket and bought so called "pythium" killers. I used plantacillin and it looked like the root rot got stronger!! So I emptied her and run low nutes (simple aqua flakes) and zone and whadda ya know? The lady is actually rebounding. Mind you she looks horrible in a lot of places but I actually got her to green up a bit. No foilar feeding iether...weird...

My boy tried to order some of that for me and couldn't. Word up for the link!!

When I used bleach it seem to hold back the roots from really getting huge. Almost like freezing them from growing really big. Maybe I was using to much but I ran 8 drops per gallon. Did you have that problem?

results will be posted soon.....

Will be waiting ..........

I believe the greenhouse chemical is called "rootshield",used as preventitive soil drench to protect roots.

I went to the groovyhydro to order some fungicide and I realized I was talking about the wrong product. But I am still ordering some. It expensive (Not in the overall sense)!!

I must also say Zone didn't kill my rot but it did hold it back,

The only root that is not new growth is the middle darker root. It still has pythuim residing on it. All other roots had rotted away.and what you see is what grew back. I only used zone on this plant after developing root rot in my RDWC. I saved this plant strictly as a experiment (It will give me maybe half to 3/4 a zip) But as you can see new growth is shooting, surviving and they are pearly white! (It may look yellow from the bulbs.) This is in its late 4th week of flowering. (And who said roots don't grow in flowering). Even though zone is doing a hella of a job, its not doing what I need. After reading groovyhydro about Hydro-FungicideI and what KB is saying about it, I'm gonna give it a try. I think this maybe the one!

Below is a pic of a the same strand that I caught root rot on but this plant was in its own DWC and for some reason never caught root rot. I did however use zone on it from day one.

@KB

For clarity, the Hydro-Fungicide you are usingis on plants that had root rot or you are using as a preventive?
