Ok so i couldnt find tape measure so i did a picture scale for height an width frame.. pics not the best done with cell. SO the pic with the moniter beside the tower that is a 17 in moniter roughly i say the tower stands about a 18 in. the back of the tower is just a regular size dvd movie case the had about a in more than the tower.. then the inside just to look at things.. did the best i could do with picture scale hope this helps..

some sort of CFL would fit in nicely... I think about using them in a micro grow, i want to cut a piece of wood, cfls on the one, ballast on the other side.. the fit the lights in with silicone?

if you tell us the width and length of the ceeling, i could tell you witch cfl woulf fit...

hey grow engineer the ceiling is 15.5 in L and 6.5 in d.. I think a 125 w cfl would fit in there but how would i hook it up? i was gonna use 4 23 w cfls with plug in socket adapters in a power strip. So could you go about tellin me how to put in a single cfl? Kinda like if it were an mh/hps bulb. thanks

If you get the mini cfl's, then the socket adapters should fit in nicely...
so what I mean is, try using the mini cfl'sthen into the socket/plug adapter...they are smaller but if you use more, all will work for you...
if you don't like that idea, try experimenting on different places where you CAN mount the powerbar with cfl's...try the end where the power supply is supposed to be...then they can stick out as far as you want and the other side can be for your grow..or vice-versa...
the other option is hard wiring the cfl's...to a bathroom vanity light fixture or something..
let us know

BC cronic: ok so where would i get the mini cfl's i had just seen them on here for the 1st time today in a thread dont remember who's tho. And did you mean to mount the power bar vertical. but do you think the mini cfl's would fit cause that would be much easier i would think for me lol im not good at anything thats "DIY" but i can grow :)

you can get the mini cfls at almost any hardware store. i would get anything from 20w to 40w range. Make sure when you do get them, its actually a 20watt light, not equivalent to. As for the bar you would want it horizontal up on the top. Usually holds 4 cfls in a row.

Struckanerve is right...walmart has them cheap but make sure you get the actual wattage you need, not the equivalent wattage...meaning some cfl's(most) say 40 watt/150 watt equivalent....or so on...
get the power bar as high up as you can(horizontaly) and then use the socket adapters with the mini cfl's...you'll have room bro..

Hey all I have been gone for awhile an have completed my 1st grow within that time period.. I am back with some help from fellow micro growers i wanna make my pc light proof as where in the dark light leaks from the cracks of the side panel of the case which comes off. I have thought about tape or caulking it but then it would stop the door from goin back onto the case.. any ideas on what i could use?

also i have some seeds germing now some regular bagseed but was good smoke with nice bag appeal. Is it ok for me to post my grow in here or is there a way to change the name of the thread? so i dont have to start a new one?

My first pc design i did something similar to yours, i drilled in screws that matched the back of the power strip, i had eight screws so i started from the bottom and worked up towards the top. I used standard sockets that plug directly into the powerstrip. In the end i went with hps because it's easier than it looks and the penetration power is sick.

As far as the dark creases, on my case I use foil tape to basically layer up the edges so that the door fits snug against the case. You can just simply use a strip of electrical tape (but leave an end loose) to light proof a crack or edge.

wouldn't the tape stop the sliding of the door going back on? I have thought of that but i noticed that the door has those angles that slide into the holes in the pc so if i were to put tape over the holes would it be able to slide on?

something as simple as black electrical tape could be used to stop the light coming from the cracks, I simply cut a piece that fits it then bend an end about 1" onto itself making like a small handle. It can be used repeatedly taken on and off (basically until it looses its grip).

thanks SW. oh an how do i plus rep you for the help? btw ill be putting my case in a cool room i have a 85 w cfl an temps are at 95 i wanna put a 105w cfl in there for flowering when in a cooler room temps run 80
