What is the truth?

SPIDER MITES

Some people(online forums/hydro stores) say you cant use ANYTHING to kill spider mites DURING FLOWERING without tasting it in your final product...

YET...

Some people say you can use organic sprays all the way up till harvest and won't taste it in your final product...

What's the truth?

What if I was to use a spray but "spot" spray my leaves and avoid my flowers as much as possible?

Yeah thats horseshit, I use FLoramite up to week 4 and can't taste it. If you were to spray sulfur or neem on your plants 3 days before chop you would taste it for sure though. I always try to use the longer-lasting stuff and use it on schedule so I don't end up with mites in the last 4 weeks, and it has time to dissipate before the chop.

why spray anything.
use no peststrips-->they will DIE DIE my darling
Ive used them twice and they did the trick both times
no messy spraying or dunking, just take the NPS out of the package and set it out.

btw
how many plants are you talking about?

The truth is that 90% of people on pot boards don't speak from experience and are just repeating what they read. What they read might be right, might be wrong, but they will pass the information along like it was whispered to them by god. End of the day realize that you have to do it yourself to get any real truth.

By concentrating the battle on the undersides of the sunleaves, the population can be kept low enough there that mites won't migrate to buds. They prefer the sunleaves anyway, and only move other places when they overpopulate. With skill, the leaves can be tilted and sprayed in such a way that the overspray completely misses the buds.

I've often wondered if some of the stories about bud tasting like Neem didn't get started from bud that actually tasted like Neem to begin with? I mean, it does have a 'citrus-ey' smell that is similar to some buds, yea? I did recently have a friend ask if I'd Neem'd a very lemon-ey SLH plant. It had absolutely no Neem on it at all since veg, but the taste reminded him of it.

In any case, Neem is easy to wash off after application. Either spray and let stand 5-10 minutes then rinse with water, or dip and rinse.

Like NIKE...JUST DO IT!!

I bought a quart of zero tolerance. Have NOT used it yet.

Though, I'm pretty sure I have spider mites... I've seen small webbing on the underside of a couple of leaves, also the speckled brown spots on a few leaves here and there...

I'm outdoor and noticed the signs about a week ago. I have NOT done anything to treat it. It does NOT look like its getting worse. There is NO mite webbing on any of the buds that I could find.

I have about 4 weeks till I harvest. This plant is over 6ft tall. How many tops does it have?

BTW This is an old picture, there is alot more budding on the bush/tree.

Do YOU think I should I still treat my plant with the Zero Tolerance or should I just ride out the last 4 weeks?

I don't want to trigger something that makes the mites mad (I read somewhere else on this site that they become resistant and more aggressive after being treated with an insecticide) There's also the chance of making the final product absorb the taste of the Zero Tolerance.

As for spraying that would be up to you. I myself have never but put in your position every plant in the vacinity including the mj would get hit. They look to be OD plants so im sure rain will rinse anything off. Like the man of steel said douse them with water mite hate moisture maybe help keep them at bay for the most part.
