PC grow 150watt HPS Air cooled- Critical Yumbolt

Well i've just started my building my Pc grow case for stealth purposes and I can wait for my premium buds. I've grow before in a 2x2x4 tent before so i'm not completely new to this. Also I have a stealth outdoor grow that is not so stealth at this point in time.


I wil be using a 150watt HPS thats is aircooled with a 120mm pc fan (this idea I got from a grow on icmag)

I am currently light proofing it and setting up a carbon filter

How hot does it get in there closed up?

I was seriously thinking about getting another 150 watter and putting it in a pc case with either a cool tube of a sheet of glass with pc fans blowing over the bulb and sucking out hot air. If I do it I am going to use seperate intake and exhausts for the light and grow chambers so I dont need to filter the light chamber I can get better cfms for cooling purposes.

Can you give any more info about your case? What is the size of the case?

Really interested because my most recent grow was some dwarf autos and under a 150 I was really impressed by the amount of bud they put on while staying under a foot tall! I am looking at harvesting atleast an ounce from the three I grew in my 150 cab and they would fit in a pc case if designed properly. I really think that dwarf autos are a really good way to go in a pc case and I plan to prove it...But thats another thread.

Well it doesnt get hot at all...the only hot spot is 1inch away from the cooltube.....the case in 22inch wide 24 high and 7 inches wide. There are three 120mm fans 1 intake and two exhaust

So im not sure what kind of bud to grow in the case....I think two plants will fit in there....I have some seeds laying around. I was think Critical Yumbolt since its 75% indica 25% sativa

What two seeds would you guys recommend growing? or should I only do one plant?

Man i'd say definitely go with White Rhino. I'm not sure how it is as a yielder but in quality it'll knock your tits off! It's usually prescribed for chronic pain so it'll just knock you out. If that's the stone you're after then there's no other choice but that one

Btw, I love that someone else has been able to get a 150w HPS bulb in a micro grow. I oughta go for this one day. I'm currently on running CFLs in my micro grow.

I just finished the carbon filter using pantyhose. Also I decided to use 1 gallon coco grow bags. But I think they are too big for this case. They are 6.75 inches tall which leaves me 8.5 inches to the light. Should i cut them down like 2-3inches or more?

Are most of the phenotypes dense like indicas? And how long do they flower from your experience so far?

I reckon you might be able to get away with that small amount of space if you are really clever and LST the shit out of your plants haha. My suggestion would be to just let them grow up a couple of inches then tie them down and make them grow back down to the soil again. Then let them grow back up towards the light again and tie them back down again & so forth...

A better idea would be to put a flat, long baking dish type container at the bottom of your PC case that covers the entire floor space. Then just let both plants grow their roots in it and really maximise your space. It'll give you another good couple of inches of grow space. If you leave the cocogro cubes in there, you're leaving heaps of dead space on either side of the cubes that can never be used. Good luck to you!

Id say use those 1 gallon bricks you have and somehow if u can start the seeds in smaller plugs or something and transplant them into the cubes with some of the stem buried then it would help out with your height.
