What's new

liquid nitrogen+compressed air=honey oil?

Could liquid nitrogen, shot out with compressed air, out of a cylindrical container, have same effect as butane without the residues?
Giving an almost clear oil with just an amber hint to it, and a new, of the charts, taste ... ?

I would like to know ...

thanks gang

thanks for getting the ball rolling(hopefully) on the subject ... I'm wondering if it's been done ... 90+ views so far, still waiting ... I think the oil would be white opaque with hints of light clear amber colors ... the Tetrahydrocanabinol globes still intact I'd guess(seeing that there would be no disolution) perhaps closer to hash than oil?

how would one process herb with liquid nitrogen is realy what I'm asking ... compressed air through a 4inch pipe idea came from the butane techenik, I know, there is dilution with butane, no argument there ...

keep the ansers comin' everyone

this is off topic but i allways wanted to find a way to do something long the lines of a moon shine type where u would vap the thc the cool it with the nitrogen. i also found this today https://www.hangingtomato.com/?cid=486258 might be on to something for out door growers or something check it out. as far as your idea. i think it would be allright as long as there is no harmful byproduct. peace from the sippi

I have heard about liquid co2 extraction, but I woder if the trics would dissove in the nitrogen. I would hypophise that even if it is possible it would be more cost effective to use co2, as it is more readlily avialable, and that the end product would be exactly the same as c02 extraction

well shit if you can get ahold of liquid Nitrogen why not get ahold of some hexane. THC it very soluable in hexane and the hexane can be evaporated off very easily leaving no trace. for that matter use medical grade ethyl alcohol (or everclear) way safer as far as impurities go has a low boiling point too.
still fuzzy as to how liquid N2 can extract the THC with any amount of success.

BUMP.....Just saw some amazing looking product in my favorite collective....They said it was made with nitrogen. Whats the story now with nitrogen these days?

LN2 isn't exactly easy to get your hands on, especially in any kind of quantity. I don't know if it's a polar or nonpolar solvent, but as C6H6 said, there are easier chems to procure that will work as well or better. One member did a test with a bunch of solvents here and said his acetone oil was the best tasting and best color out of all the alcohols and butanes he'd tried.

I've heard of liquid nitrogen being utilized by a clinic but I always take their explanations of processing with a grain of salt as many have tried to feed me B.S. info

this one seemed legitimate, but from what it sounded like, the extracted oil is super cooled with liquid nitrogen and then shattered into "gold dust"

however this explanation sounds more like BHO was used first, although I'm not 100% sure about this. liquid nitrogen is indeed non-polar and can be a solvent...

I believe the conclusion from that experiment was that Acetone yielded the greatest % while being similar in quality to 99% ISO and Denature Alcohol.

Butane extracted oil was by far the least yielding but had greatest quality in terms of flavor and minimal chlorophyll content
