Hermie??? Pics

Total newbie here. We have a plant that looks like a girl cuz of all the hairs on the side branches..no sign of seed pods there. But at the top there appears to be seed pods. But we are not sure what really constitutes a hermie here. We don't want to yank it if we're not sure. 1st pic is towards the top of the main branch. Notice the seed like pod sticking out on the lower right side, and there are more of those near the top of the main branch. 2nd pic is a side branch of the same plant..lots of hairs. Please help out a new outdoor grower Thanks so much:thank you:

Hopefully these pics will allow a difinitive answer. Just from looking at them we are becoming convinced that it is a hermie. Going to ask a newbie question: if it is a hermie what are our options...can we pic the pods off as we find them? It's a big beautiful plant with the start of lots of buds. It is planted close to our girls so we don't want to risk pollenation. Thanks for your help and patience with a newbie:thank you:

Hermie sry, i would chop her down. OR take a chance since she is coming down, dig her up and remove the pods, transplant far away. Still might lose her death/hermie but if you want to try...

So if we pull all of the pods off will others just grow back? As I said...we are newbies so please pardon any "dumb" questions :)

The previous answer is incorrect from my experience. If you get these actual "sacks" at the base of buds, like yours are, I have found that they DO NOT grow back, most of the time.

You will want to be very careful, pluck all the sacks off, and check every single day for more, or for ones that you missed. I have harvested several plants that had bad hermie issues (i plucked like 100 sacks off 1 plant). They finished fine, and were some of the best smoke I've had, with virtually no seeds at all. It does take some vigilance, but you can pluck them and finish the plant out.

Thanks to all of you kind folks for your comments! We decided to take a chance and transplanted it into a 5gal. pot and brought it into the house. She/he looks surprisingly good for having been ripped out of the ground :) We aren't prepared for any kind of indoor growing so we just took a ballast and hung it up over the plant and are going to go ahead and start a 12/12 on it. One of the lights burned out so we replaced it with a blacklight flourescent lol. Picked off as many of the sacks as we could see. Still very open to any and all suggestions on what we are doing. Total experiment for us. We are just working with the materials we have on hand for now. Will continue to post our progress and pics if it survives the trauma of it's transplant. We decided to name it Hermione lol....Peace

Im all with what this guy said. cuz I have done the same thing befor and also had some of my best smoke ever.

so what kind of light is she under now. I would be useing an hps light of floro lights to flower her. but deff keep plicking off as many pod sacks as u can.

Pics of Hermione...now an indoor hermie

Hmmmm I like the midwest just fine :moon: :) The plants been ripped out of the ground, put in a pot, sacs plucked. We have it in a storeroom upstairs with a ballast light on a 12/12, with 1 reg flourescent and 1 blacklight(other reg burned out). Not sure what the blacklight will/or will not do....this is all an experiment in progress. It drooped a little bit at first but has now perked up nicely. We will continue to post the progress/or lack of, with pics. Thanks in advance for any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism or advice.

:thank you::jump: :plant grow: :smoke out:

sorry man, but brother bear knows whats hes talking about. they wont grow back in that exact same spot on the plant, but a hermie will be producing both pistils and pollen sacks throughout its entire flowering phase, they are easy to spot at this point because the cola hasnt developed yet, but once it has trying to pick out the new pollen sacks each day is more hassely than one plant is worth. throw it out before it ruins your other girls with hermie pollen.

might wanna check to see why it hermed before trying in same area. If it was in your backyard ect.. any streetlights, house,or garage light will disrupt and stress plants. Its worth figuring before being dissappointed again. The move indoors might even stress it more causing more pollen sacs to pop up. If you have no other plants around I would pick sacs off and let continue budding...its prob not worth cloning or breeding and depending on light used(indoors) might not be worth wasting bulb or electricity on. good luck

No other plants in the house. No plans on breeding or doing clones. All of the other girls are doing great outdoors...no street lights or light pollution. We're looking at this as a somewhat fun project..just to see how it turns out. Thanks for the comments and advice.

Hey if thats the only plant you have let it grow, it will still smoke good. Hell, tons of people would love to have a nice plant like that even if it is a hermie. And alot of hermie's will not or can not make seeds. If you want to just cut off the nuts and let her/him go.Alot of people just don't know it but I would say that 1% of females at some time will even get a nut sack on it. That one way when its all done ( you have 20 plants and no there is no way) you had a male around and out of 20lbs of pot you find 2 (two ) seeds. Thats just the pot GODS keeping the plant here for us to use.
I don't know why people freek out about streetlights or house lights stressing out plants I say thats BULL SHIT. What the hell are we to do about the MOON!!!! I'm sure no one has their plants right under the damn street light. LOL And I have never had a plant die when the moon comes out. LOL Hell I have some plants that have very black stems and no matter how or what I do to them they have black stems. I can stress the shit out of them and they still are black. I can give them everything they want and they are still black. I have picks of one and if I ever get some one to help me I will post them. LOL I am to old I guess< I still can't get my pics up on here.

Any way let the plant grow and fucking injoy it. BE HAPPY!!!!!!

it looked to me like your "hermie" was close to other plants? and if such is the case you need to pay attention to the other gals and not waste too much time babysitting a hermie. imho, you probably have more hermie probs in your garden that have not raised their ugly head yet? usually it is just seeded plants but you never know so be alert for other plants going haywire. peace-biteme
