Do your homework and have more specific questions 
Helis pretty much has you covered. It really is that simple if you want it to be. My single plant tub can go 2 weeks and more without maintenance.
Stick to a simple nute formula. Some manufacturers make them premixed. Micro, Bloom and some pH down is all you need. Get a couple grows under your belt before playing with additives or boosters.
You'll want to measure both EC and pH and chart these numbers in a journal to determine feed levels. EC up, pH down is too rich. EC down, pH up is too lean. I spent my money on a Bluelab EC Truncheon. For pH I use a $5 kit from the aquarium store.
Here's my very first DWC. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing except for what I picked up here. Over 4 zips water cured, would've been close to 1/2 pound air cured from a single plant under a 250
