I got some plants in my backyard there is choppers flying all over the place everyday we are legal but would rather them not see it, whats a good film to use to cover the plants but not block the light? we are using this green mesh looks like fishing nets or something. anyway its not really covering much and im sure its blocking light...

what material is good for this purpose?

Shade cloth is sold by the percentage of light it lets through, if I remember most is 35%. You might try a floating row cover, very light weight made to lie on plants without crushing them, use stakes, any way it should let enough light like a hoop house.

I've been wondering the same thing. I want to do a small outdoor grow in a big garbage can and have some kind of mesh, screen or film on the top to let in light, but obscure the plant. Hmmmm. There gotta be some kind of screen or film that does this.

Just put twist on silk or plastic flowers on the plant or wrap plastic decorative vines around it as it grows to obscure it this works great with training it to grow sideways along the ground with some metal stakes or string. If it is on your property you can grow flowers and vegeatbles all around it to hide them quite well just put the pot plants in the middle. If you have something up over it then people or LEO are going to want to see whats inside.

Corrugated plastic roof panels or screen.
Nothing is going to totally obscure it, let enough light in, and not raise questions about what you're trying to hide.
LEO can only fly over if it is their normal route. I get a lot of military helicopters flying over. They don't pay attention. I also get a lot of small aircraft. They may whisper among them selves. I'm legal. In southern cal as well. I'm slowly learning not to sweat it and let them babies grow free. I worry more about the neighbors kids.

doesn't help OP, but i'd think outdoor LST's or SCROG's would be tough to spot
they don't have the usual profile, as long as you don't have a big bunch together
