I will be going on a 2 week vacation in december and my OD flowers will be dry and curing in there jars by then.

my ? is while Im gone should the buds not be in the jars. cuz I won't be there to open the jars weekly.

so how long can buds be in the jars befor they get moldy?

:thank you:

There is a thread about curing here where you could get all your questions about this answered.Or ask Simon.

If they are not in jars or any air tight container they will dry out too much. If they are in jars and they aren't dry enough, they'll mold.

How long will they be curing in the jars ?

How long will they be curing in the jars before your vacation starts?

If they are cured a couple of weeks before you leave, I wouldn't worry. :joint:

Shit, typed a whole response and lost it....

Jarring large buds with a stem running up the middle makes a bigger core of moisture. More burping might be necessary as larger stems don't often snap when the bud is ready to jar. The ones that do might be beyond dry for jarring. It makes the curing process longer and might even produce a better cure. But it's more labor intensive and I wouldn't want to leave em alone for two weeks w/o cracking the lid for a smell test.

If you cut the budlets off the larger stems you'll have less core moisture when the smaller stems crack, less likely to mold in two weeks. This might be too dry for some curing purists but it's a compromise that might avoid mold.

Jorge says to freeze buds after initial dry. He says evaporation will happen anyway, just slower. Might be a way to avoid mold for a few weeks.

not necessarilly. just keep the humidity above 60% but more importantly good air circulation with a small clip on fan and you'll be ok. i dry/cure slowly with high temps and humidity but always keep a low fan blowing over buds and i never have mold

jammie is right, I had 60%+ humidity this summer and had to keep lids on to keep weed dry. It was ridiculous.
