first off hi international cannagraphic magazine forums :D

i wanna build me a small CFL box for 2-3 plants so i dont have to buy weed all the time (lol)

i cant spend much money on it and thought i could use what i got here

could i use that laminate floor wood things u stack togheter to build the box? got alot of them laying around

then for lights maybe a 200w cfl

axial fan or computer fans for exhaust and passive intake holes

i hope i will get the needed help to start a grow :D

laminate floor wood should work as long as you have some type of mylar sheet on the inside of the box,
if your box is small, 200w cfl will be hard to cool down with computeur fan for thos summer days
i m using 125w cfl in small box 75x60x30cm with 2x10cm fan + 1x20cm computeur fan and the temperature is usually +/- 25/30 degres
it's worth geting 1 $$good extractor fan with carbon filter if u can

The axial fan would work for sure...try a dayton...they are insane...they use regular 120 volts so they really move the air...I am waiting for one right now..
badjha is right about mylar or something reflective...
try going to the growroom and design threads and look for the DIY link-a-rama...that will help for sure...
good luck!!!

I think its 50-100 watts per square foot..so try and calculate your total watts/lumens then you will have some idea of the size you need...and then your cfl's need to be close to your plants so does this give you a rough idea of the cab size you need?
take care

I'm not sure how you can use laminate flooring. How do you get it to form walls? Glue the joints? Seems like it would be hard to keep everything flat. How to you do the doors? Read up around here and either get a white melamine cabinet to convert or build one out of plywood. I think it would be easier in the long run. You can have the plywood precut at a lot of lumber supply houses. The other cabinet you have sounds like a good size if you can make it servicable.

If you want 4 plants you would need to be a bit deeper or a bit longer, each plant wants about 30 cm square. Also, a long skinny box with the bulb oriented lengthways uses the light bulb's output less efficiently than a square box since the bulb puts out most of it's light to the sides, not the ends.

Check my sig for a small melamine cabinet that grows 2 plants and gives me over 200 grams every 2 months. I have 2 chambers but the grow chamber is 35 cm deep, 68 cm wide and 73 cm tall. I have a 250 watt HPS in there now but if I were to do it again I'd go for a 150. I have a 85 M3/S bathroom fan with charcoal filter for ventilation and a separate fan for the light.

Good luck, tog

seems like you should first figure out if this cab is for veg or flower or both
lots of people just grow from seed not needing a veg room

Sounds like everything you got will work. You just need to put it together. As far as "mylar" goes.I dont know where your at but I can go to the dollar store and they have a product there that you can use and I think "is" mylar. If it isnt it works just as well.It will deffinetly save some money.

i think ill go with the existing cab and a 250w cfl (the huge ones)
then a small axial fan with a selfmade carbon filter from the DIY tutorials and i should be good to go

i could also buy a 250w hps/mh ballast from a friend for 20euro do u think a 250w hp would be alot better in that cab than a 250w cfl?
i would need a cooltube for the hps right?

An HPS would be better for sure but then you will need a cool tube....there is a thread on how to make them so I will find it for you if you want...
take care
