haha mate i actually didn't think of the connection between dmt and these guys at all... total coincidence. these plants i choose because well they were readily available in seedling form out in the town and they have really small nice leaves, bonsai plants with massive leaves always looked strange to me so i was looking for a small leaved plant. :D don't worry i won't be bothering with that stuff, i'm pretty much a cannabis only guy hehe cheers for the warning though sharks and bananas seems like a creepy combination in and of itself!

LOL, not everyone who grows acacia has an interest in DMT. I've been doin' the bonsai thing for about 40 years and have 20 year old acacia still going strong. I started mine from a sapling I rescued growing in a crack in the sidewalk. Bonsai is a lot of fun and quite challenging.

If you have any questions I'll try to answer them.

awww sweet mate :D awesome to hear there're others out there doing it with the same sorta plants, i just chose this one and hadn't researched if it'd be good for it or not. any way i can have a look at some pics of your 20 yr old bonsai? it must be amazing :D thanks a lot for offering your help i'm sure i'll need it as time goes by as i have absolutely no experience in this area at all just thought it'd be a bit of fun! oh also, do you keep yours indoors or outdoors?

hehe yeah mate should be good :D lol i wonder if i'll still have it in 20 yrs though, that'd be pretty cool if i did!

Sure, I'll take a picture and post it for you. Try to get to it today.

I keep mine indoors. They are presently in their more dormant stage, but heading towards spring (LOL). I also have a European Larch (now for something completely different) and a Ribbon Fan Palm Tree. I used to keep cocoa trees to bear cocoa beans, but they died from lack of care when Mrs H.G. was sick and I was nursing her back to health. Now I have to buy cocoa beans when I make my chocolate.

The challenge isn't keeping them alive, but getting them to look like miniature trees! There's all sorts of Bonsai symmetry rules, but I break them all the time 'cause I'm a farmer at heart. I like my trees more natural than traditional Bonsai would have it.

thinking i might order one of these in the future

Wollie-in-a-pot--WP-58-1.jpg

it's a wollemi pine, endangered species native to australia, it's over 90 million years old and has been propagated to hell in order to save it. so you can now buy a 50cm plant for $39.90 not including $11 postage hehe a fair price i reckon!

http://www.wollemipine.com/order.php

don't think anyone's ever bonsai'ed one of these. also wouldn't mind trying a norfolk island pine too, they've always caught my eyes down the coast in south east aus at the beach :D beautiful trees!

hehe they carked it, got to hot in the sun and i think my cats may have tipped some over as the windows weren't open to let the wind in. so i tossed them. i'll have to grab a few more in the near future. i'm also debating buying an endangered australian pine tree you can get over the net to bonzai, they're called wollemi pines! beautiful things :D 90 million years old.

yeah there were only 100 plants found in a small valley in the blue mountains nsw australia. the location isn't disclosed as they're worried people will go and damage the plants accidently or on purpose.

http://www.wollemipine.com/

$50 including postage for one, they've propagated 1000s now from seeds they collected, in an effort to conserve the species they now sell them! :D
