You talking like... a custom humidor jawn? Can you be more specific?

The tobacco shop near me has the walls lined with glass door "humidors". It's a pretty dope setup.

yes something to that Ideal, What would be needed to make a decent sized box that does the same thing. I'm looking to make something that would have the perfect/ideal temp & humidity levels at all times, for drying plus leaving enough room for jars once the drying process is complete to further cure the buds.

A cigar humidor works by keeping a constant humidity level (around 70%) to keep the moisture of the cigar at optimum. The cigar is already cured to the perfect humidity level when you buy it.

Drying pot is a different deal altogether. You do not want a constant humidity level, in fact you want to always be getting rid of the humidity. Drying needs an air flow to keep mold from happening and allowing the plant to rid a majority of it's moisture before the chlorophyll starts to ferment.
Once we have them dry enough, the jars act as a humidor of sorts. The closed area allows the buds to leach out the remaining moisture at a slower rate and allows things to ferment and mingle properly. We need to still get rid of this excess moisture on a regular basis by opening the jars and moving the buds.
Once they are cured to perfection, then they can be placed into a humidor to keep them at a preferred level of humidity. But the jar will do just as well.

I built a dry box that works very well. I use it for flowering and for a stud box too.

Right on ,Great Info & I pretty much knew all of that, But I am still curious as to how others go about drying their buds. There has to be an Ideal set up. Im looking for that then Im gonna build it heheh. TY for the input guys!

I'm going to buy one of those tear-down grow closets, and attach my hygrometer and a fan to it. Set it to vent the closet when internal humidity reaches 60%, and come back in a week.

Hi Cannatopia,
My husband made me an awesome drybox last year.
I will have to find pics of it as I don't have them on my computer at the moment but it is an excellent solution to drying the buds before you actually put them in the jars for curing.
He made it out of wood and looks just like a dresser drawer only the 5 drawers have metal screening stretched on the inside bottoms.
For the drying part he added a little fan inside and then added a remote dial so you can change the drying mode.
It works REALLY well and dries LOTS of buds at the same time with no d*cking around....lol

Give me a day or two to put this info together. No working camera at the moment and it sucks:(
I think you will like it:jump:
Right on TY! This does sound like something im looking for. TY & Itll be worth the wait! :)

Found some pics of it.
I wasn't intending on doing an DIY so didn't take many pics of it while it was being made but wish I had.

Here is a part pic of the unit itself and then there is one of an idea of what the inside of the drawers look like, only it isn't a drawer. Its a kief shifter.

I will get more info on how it was made and what exactly was used a bit later, when i know for sure;)

That is Bad Ass! Great Idea!

5 drawer drybox

5 drawer drybox

29 L
20 W
35 H

5 drawers sitting on inside runners

7" space at the bottom
3" space at the top

Depth of each draw

16" deep
21" W
3" H

1/4" plywood back
1 x 3 for sides of drawers

- make a curf on the bottom of each board for screen allowance

- screen is pet proof vinyl not metal
(metal does NOT work as well)

- rubber spleen stuff - same stuff that is made for screening windows and sliding screen doors

- 5 inch computer fan

-reostat or light dimer switch for fan speed

All of these things except for the computer fan can be found at Homedepot

NOTE: This doesn't give you a lot of information but the basics on how to do it.

By the weekend my husband says he will write out the measurements and explain it all so others can use it.
He's the carpender here not me.

I hope this gives you a general idea of what is needed to make it
Oh it is Badass!:dance013:
