lumatek power cord

Hi!

I purchased a lumatek 1000w but the power cord was for 240v!

I found 120v power cord for lumatek ballast but they seem to have just one gauge size.

Is the 600w and 1000w have the same power cord gauge size?

Any of you run the 1000w lumatek on 120v? Any problems?

thank you very much!

is the lumatek wired to run on 120v? does it say anywhere on the ballast that it can be ran with 120v?

im assuming that since it came with 240v cord it will only run on 240v..

there are some ballasts that can be run on 120 OR 240, but unfortunately I do believe lumateks are wired to be run for one or the other...

if you want to run on 120, then you need to take back the 240 and get a 120...

Yes its the 120/240v one!

I know that but if I want to order it online I have to take the good gauge wire. The 240v wire included with it is much bigger than the 120v wire taht I have with my 400w.

Another question!!

If I set my 1000w dimmable ballast on 600w with an 600w bulb. Will it cause as much RF interference as if I set it on 1000w with an 1000w bulb?

I cannot say for the gauge of a 1000w as i dont have one... sorry.

But with this, the RF interference will be from your cords. The ballasts are coated, and rarely the cause of RF problem. But if you loop cords around and dont make em short that can cause problems. Always keep cords short and you'll be a-ok!

I could see however if your bulb breaks, then it causing problem - but Lumateks are true e-ballast and shut off as soon as it notices a unlit bulb.

Ok!! I'lL try that!! That the only thing I'm wooried about...the RF Interference!! I'll run the 1000w on 120v!

Cord to the socket or cord to the wall plug?

All cords. Power to ballast, ballast to light - keep em both short. Lumatek does have a RF shielded wires - but still, the shorter the better. Also, you may not be using a lumatek cord to the ballast... neither am i but still no problems. My length is about 5 ft on it with no problems.

You mean, not using the cord included with the ballast?

I dont believe mine came with the ballast - i ordered mine. But im talking about the cord from the ballast running to the light. From the power to the ballast isnt that bad.

And i think its selling tactic... looks like a standard power cord to me...

With the lumatek you have the 120v cord (except mine) I got a 240v!

The cord ballast to light is also included.
