I found two keepers in 20 seeds and the best one didn't clone well. Most of the DJs BB I grew were the lowest yielding in the garden and tasted earthy and bland. I have heard that the BB keeper people ar after is found in 1:100 seeds. My keeper has maroon stems, leaf crinkle, fat calyxes, and gets some nice color. I have some ChemD x True BB that I am excited for! :dance013:

dj is the man, tis why sub cool quotes hs books word for word in his tutorials, and probably his book if/when it comes out....:)

Rusty,

His book is already out...It came out in 2008. Titled: "Dank: The Quest for the Very Best Marijuana". :joint:

EDIT: Chimera, You sound like an extremely reputable guy/company. I have yet to get any of your work but your Grapefruit x BB looks mighty fine!...And I've seen a lot of successful grow logs on it too! Its great to see a breeder that backs up their work 100% like you do! I hope to get some of your gear soon. :D

The blueberry is inbred because it has undergone multiple rounds of 1:1 breeding on a small scale.

Blueberry hybrids mask the negative recessive traits and restore vigour in the hybrid generation. From the sounds of your posts you would be much happier with a blueberry hybrid, than a pure line.

You might be interested in obtaining some of the DJ Short/Chimera or DJ Short /Legends blueberry hybrids... these seeds were created by selecting the best individuals from over 300 blueberry seeds from DJ Short himself- from an earlier filial (less inbred) generation than has been previously released.

A portion of the proceeds of the sale of these hybrids does go back to the original creator of blueberry- DJ Short. No other seed companies pay a royalty to the creator or the Blueberry line for use in their own hybrids- therefor if the ethical compensation for the use of someone's genetic line is important to you, this might be something you want to consider.

All the DJ Short/Chimera hybrid seeds retail for about $80 and the Legends/DJ Short are similar in price. I also offer a full %100 satisfaction guarantee on all of our seeds.... if you are dissatisfied with any of our products for any reason, I will replace your seeds and keep sending you beans until you uncover something that you are happy with.

I hope that helps and offers you something to consider.

Respectfully,

+1

Statements like this make me seek out a breeder; seedbay got my $ last week, but you are definitely next on the list.

Chimera-would you be so kind as to elaborate on the traits a male typically passes on?
I'm noticing real small sativa calyxes, less resin, and a fainter smell than the mom sour diesel but bigger, thicker buds too
thanks for your time

and seedbay the bou or HD will get your money again ... they are the only 3 spots I know of to score Chimeras genetics. Did you think Chimmy was going to hand deliver?

WTF are you talking about. No one 'got my money', i exchange money for seeds though an intermediary.

Bog didnt bring me my seeds either... better yet... yes, of course i expect him to hand deliver them... He better bring 6'1" blonds and a keg too. (Where the fuck are you getting this?)

Chimera... is Mental Floss #1 w/DJs Blueberry, or #2 w/DJs Flo getting listed next with the GFxBB? Or hell, maybe both?

Hermies on DJ short gear? I germed three seeds from my pack from the boo.

Got three females :smokeit:, and 1 definite keeper. Decent yield so far, but the pest part, it smells like grape skittles. Just 100% like grape skittles. It makes me giggle like a school girl no matter how many times I rub the bud for smell. Oh god I can't wait for lights on.

I have read only a tiny bit of reports of DJ shorts going hermie. Most I've read had no such thing.
I'm pretty sure DJ shorts blueberry (straight) is considered the best around. I remember growing a cut of his about six years ago that smelled just like blueberry pancake batter.. Man that was a long time ago.

But as its been said, maybe you would like a hybrid.

I have to admit the other two females dont look like anything special, but this one female is worth a TON. She is so FREAKING STICKY and smells like grape skittles.

Good thread question,, simple answer "they dont exist". The Thai in Blueberry makes the line unstable,, because the Thai farmers it originally came from were profit rich n hungry,, and allowed hermaphroditic traits to persist. The breeders (a many) of Blueberry work every season to eliminate this menace from the line... and aim to clean the line up

All ongrowing ... :canabis:
