Is 3ft of height enough for a healthy Scrog grow?

Trying to get my stealth cabinet set up and I found a nice one at a garage sale but the cab is only 3ft in height. With a 250 hanging from the top do you think 3 ft of height is enough to do a healthy scrog or will it be too short? Cab is about 32 inches wide. The pots are about 10 inches tall. This will be my first attempt at a scrog grow. Thinking I would want to flower 3 plants at a time.

Only reason I'm considering this cab is cause it also has a separate 3ft area underneath it which would make it a perfect veg room.

It'll be fine as long as you can keep temps in check.

I think Nicoli is right but keeping the temps down might be a problem. It probably boils down to getting enough air through the cab.

I have 32" vertical space using 4 x 55w PLLs and I sometimes struggle with heat. For me 32° C (89° F) is about as hot as I get. It will be better now that I've gone into flower.

Yeh man 3 ft is a huge amount of space for a micro Scrog grow. I'd let the plants get to just under 2 ft in height and be LST-ing and weaving the stems back and forth under and over the screen to really spread out the growing tips. That'd be my dream to have 2x 3 ft grow spaces for a micro grow.

You certainly have enough space to fit plants in it but i'm not sure about the light. Have you considered switching from HPS to a high wattage 130w CFL light? I know you'd be compromising on final harvest weight but it keeps the heat and temperatures down and also saves u a bundle on ur power bills. If you still went with HPS, you'd need to leave about a foot and a half of space for the HPS bulb and go no more than a 250w one. Unless you can vent the grow space really really well.

Anyway i'm rambling but there's my 2 cents. Check out the micro grow link at the bottom of my post in my signature too. My mate, Darwinsbulldog & i get just under 2 ounces from that one plant and that's only about 1.5 ft tall AND only using CFLs. It's because we LST'd it that it can grow out so much more. Have a look!

you still have to take into account the size of your planter, how far the light hangs down, where you can mount fans, how high to mount the scrog screen etc...
I just finished building 1 ( scrog cab) so if you want to check it out( to give you a rough idea) go to BC Chronics 192 watt pc scrog...the pics are on page 3...or go to my albums and look at the new cab build pics...I started with 36 inches of height and have 16-18 inches left for buds to grow...
I have my light mounted as far to the top as I could get it which helped...

Thanks for the answers. I Think I will have 3ft 5inches total. Heat won't be a problem since I will have plenty of ventilation. I used to grow in a big tent with a 400w and never had problems with heat. I'll post my setup once I get it done. My pots are 9 inches, light is 7 inches. Leaving me with only 25 inches of total grow space. Hopefully I can scrog and lst the hell out of these plants. I've never done it before so lets see what happens.

Will be growing Kali Mist, Deep Chunk, and Sweet Cindy. Kali mist in 2ft of grow space should be interesting.

well seince you dont have much vertical room i would start scrog training your plants very young infact i scrogged mine so young that the screen is only 3-4 inches above the pot and i have more then enough room in my tent....good luck and scrog is a good bit of work untill the end of flower stretch! every day i was having to rebend stalks....hell i just put a screen on some plants 2nd week into 12/12

3ft is plenty, if you check my diary with the 250hps or the 205 led that cab is about 2ft x 2ft x 3ft high. i do ok in it

imo limited height in a small grow does you a favour - it forces you into good training techniques and you get all the buds close to the light.

I grow with with about half that height. And half the watts. The thing you need to be concerned with. Is how good you are at cooling your space. Your 250w hid will turn that cab into a oven unless you have a good cooling plan. An easy bake oven makes cookies with a 13w bulb. GL

Yeah scrogs are usually good for 3 ft and under plants. I was so impressed with other scrog results Ive seen added one even though I was at a little over a week into flower already. I will scrog the tops that are still raising to the Scrog and use it to support the taller tops too. Check out the pic!

Yah I have 8x55w Pll's going in a cab with only 3 ft of height. I only grow for personal so i never weigh my results but i do pretty well, keeps me going until the next harvest. I just upgraded from a Panasonic whisper fan to an S&P TD-125 and that is helping with the temps. Make sure you have plenty of ventilation!!
