where are the stable blueberry seeds?

I didn't know which forum to post this in so I put it in growers. If any mod feels the need to move this thread elsewhere than so be it. I am looking for a STABLE blueberry in seed form concerning taste/smell.

Originally I thought Dj short was a no brainer for blueberry... BUT after doing some research, I found that despite the fact that dj's blueberry seeds have been in circulation for more than a decade, they are prone to mutations/going hermy. That is not based on first hand experience but rather a numerous amount of online grow reports. I think paying $150+ for a pack of 10 seeds @ the bay should entitle me to some genetic stability.

I want your feedback on a STABLE blueberry seed NOT from dj short. I have read good things on spice of life's blue satelite and bubonic. If you could please share your experience and please include descriptions. + rep for whoever provides good detail

I had about 25 blueberry/Williams last grow. More than half were male. Of the females, two hermied slightly. Didn't hurt them much. They sure were pretty though. Very stout, well defined leaves with a touch of color.

I grew Mdanzig's blueberry fems a while back and they were by far the worst genetics I've ever sprouted. Watch out for misleading advertising. There is a log in my gallery somewhere. All of them were somewhat uniform - the only problem is that the uniform was shit.

look in to classic Seeds......BC Blueberry x the WALL 25 IBL......
Very stable......100% germination, indica dominat, and most all of the blueberry nute sensativatiez are removed in this cross.....

I got sum in there 4 th week of veg and just as happy as can be.......

I'm growing out Dr. Atomics BB x NL cross & it really smells like B berries & has been a very good plant but I have not tried the end product yet. Most people I have talked that have grow it too really liked this strain & line.

I was just going to say, I saw the thread of this title and said "please no one say dj short". Dr. Atomics BB line is a lot more stable from my 2nd hand experience.

You need to do more homework. SOL used DJs Blueberry and it's probably in Dr Atomics Blueberry Jam too. It has also been Proven beyond a reasonable doubt that things go hermie on Sub Cool that don't hermie here. Something sketchy is up with that HeHeHe "Breeder" or his garden.

I have heard that Dr Atomic did use Djs BB in the mix.
Here is a link to an article on his crosses & line.
http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/4762.html
"DJ Shorts original Blueberry was one I first crossed in 1997. I admit many seed breeders now use DJs Blueberry as breeding parents, and they do because its a great cross. Blueberry is very pretty, potent, fruity and always imparts improvement in the offspring."

I've ran DJ's Blueberry on several occasions, crossed it to other strains and have yet to have any hermie issues. And I have found the plants to be pretty uniform. The only oddity I have found is the occasional plant with twisted leaves, but that is well known and occurs in other DJ lines as well. I've been working with Blue Moonshine and BM crosses the last 3 years have yet to have any hermies with it as well.

Other than being very nute sensitive, BB is an easy, stable, problem free plant that both stands on its own and crosses well.

And, I'm a lazy hack with heat and light leak issues indoors, and hot, humid, poor soil conditions outdoors!

I can only comment on one other breeders BB, and since the name will just be deleted, I'll just say it was based on DJ's and DP's BB and it was a pleasure to grow. Still nute sensitive, but no hermies to be found.

Honestly, if I can pull off multiple grows with less than ideal conditions and no major problems, then the genetics are solid in my book.

Yeah I THINK that is prolly because his HOT super soil recipe that I also use. Any plant that is sensitive to nutes like blueberry will likely hermaph in that rich soil. You are right, I do need to do some more research but thanks yall for the leads. Now I have a direction to go as oppose to wandering through the abyss of comerical propaganda.

Stable Blueberry seeds / blueberry doesn't exist,, the breeder works hard to eradicate the hermaphroditic traits as much in breeding as they do on paper.

Great weed to smoke,, but sexually unstable to breed with.

Hope this helps

damn doc, you told it to me straight. I guess there is no hope for a stable blueberry seed... that's a bummer. Can't blame me for trying though. I might have to go with yortbogey's suggestion. $60 seems a lot more reasonable for a sexually unstable strain in seed form as oppose to 150.

I have grown out 2 packs of DJ's Blueberry. I think they are good and certainly unstable. I did not find the "blueberry" that I was looking for. I smoked some blueberry once that was so blueberry it was almost sick. I was looking for that pheno, but no luck.

I think it is better in crosses myself. I would go with the "f2's" or a cross if I was u. I have never even heard of blueberry with hemi problems. I have a little bit of light leaks, high temps and never did I have a blueberry with a nanner or any balls.

subcoo l uses a hot soil mix, the blues are touchy feeding IBLs.....no brainer... Apollo13 and crosses of dont herm, tis probably why sub cool likes it among other things..:)

get true bluberry, and bluberry fro dj, grow both packs at the same time and open pollinate(everything sexes with everything) thus producing stable bb seeds....dj is the man, tis why sub cool quotes hs books word for word in his tutorials, and probably his book if/when it comes out....:)

You could try using some DJ Short BB males to pollinate some of your favorite females

The blueberry is inbred because it has undergone multiple rounds of 1:1 breeding on a small scale.

Blueberry hybrids mask the negative recessive traits and restore vigour in the hybrid generation. From the sounds of your posts you would be much happier with a blueberry hybrid, than a pure line.

You might be interested in obtaining some of the DJ Short/Chimera or DJ Short /Legends blueberry hybrids... these seeds were created by selecting the best individuals from over 300 blueberry seeds from DJ Short himself- from an earlier filial (less inbred) generation than has been previously released.

A portion of the proceeds of the sale of these hybrids does go back to the original creator of blueberry- DJ Short. No other seed companies pay a royalty to the creator or the Blueberry line for use in their own hybrids- therefor if the ethical compensation for the use of someone's genetic line is important to you, this might be something you want to consider.

All the DJ Short/Chimera hybrid seeds retail for about $80 and the Legends/DJ Short are similar in price. I also offer a full %100 satisfaction guarantee on all of our seeds.... if you are dissatisfied with any of our products for any reason, I will replace your seeds and keep sending you beans until you uncover something that you are happy with.

I hope that helps and offers you something to consider.

Respectfully,
-Chimera

Listen to this guy here ^^ Chimera himself

I've always wanted some sort of blueberry after scoring a sack of aqua green triched out blueberry muffin goodness long ago. Came to the same conclusion as Chimera has presented. I picked up the Sweetest Sativa from Chimera based off the quality genetics involved and first hand reports. I will definitely be getting his Mental Floss one day. SOL blue's also were very hard for me not to order as well....but all in good time :D
